The ANZAC War Memorial in Sydney’s Hyde park is such a beautiful building/sculpture. Even if you are not into architecture it is well worth a visit just to see the well thought out structure as a tribute to our nations fallen service people. There is a free little museum inside with memorabilia from WWI to the war in Afghanistan. With a love for history, but not of war, I found the museum quite interesting. The Hall of Silence is definitely a must see to honour the fallen and those who served, but also a poignant reminder of war and its pains and a reminder that war should never happen again. Well worth a visit for visitors of all ages and cultures and opinions.

Free to visit! At the lower floor you can see exhibits, detailing about the men and women who sacrificed their lives during the wars Australia was involved with. The memorial itself is amazing to see with its intricate details celebrating the armed forces and located in the middle of the square.

A poignant and touching memorial with a small, but informative museum. Well worth a visit if you’re into history. The exhibition tells the background history (mainly 1916 to 2005) and the story of individuals. A lot of information is packed into a fairly small space. The building itself is a beautiful art-deco structure with an elegant sculpture at its center.
