This was the worst customer service I have ever received. I went to get my passport renewed, and was served by the older Asian lady. I don’t have a drivers license, but have every other form of ID, yet she was adamant that I have a drivers license, and gave me attitude for not having one. She was rude, aggressive, mean and made me feel terrible coming in today. She is not suited to a customer service role, as it seems I am not the only one who has had a terrible experience with her. I strongly suggest others to go to a different post office if they are getting a passport renewed.

+++ AVOID SURRY HILLS POST OFFICE FOR PASSPORT RENEWAL +++ I had an absolutely terrible experience here while trying to replace my son’s passport before our Christmas trip overseas. I came fully prepared with all required documents: - My passport - My son’s passport - Birth certificate - Driver’s license - Completed application in black pen Despite this, the staff member (older asian lady) refused to process the application for these reasons: 1. My driver’s license didn’t include my middle name (even though my passport clearly did). 2. The photo was rejected because of a minor shadow on the neck—taken by another post office, by the way. 3. I requested a fast-track service and was told it wasn’t available (which is completely false). Why do they act like gatekeepers when they don’t even work for DFAT? I called DFAT directly, and they advised me to go to another post office nearby. I did—and what a difference! The other post office processed everything quickly, with a smile, and without any issues. I’ve now received my son’s fast-tracked passport—thanks to the other post office, and absolutely NO thanks to Surry Hills Post Office. If you value your time and sanity, go elsewhere.

This post office is definitely underrated. I’ve been here a few times, and every visit has been a great experience. The service is always above and beyond expectations. Today, Neha Patel helped me once again, and she was absolutely wonderful. She answered all my questions clearly, handled everything quickly and efficiently, and did it all with a genuine smile. She was incredibly welcoming and made the whole process easy and pleasant. It’s rare to find such consistently excellent service, and I really appreciate the effort the team here puts into helping their customers.

It's a post office! They do mail, you can buy SIM cards and all kinds of other things. Shipping storage lockers, too. Staff are quick and efficient. Nice to have a post office near so many other attractions.
