Despite being a customer for 20 years, TERRIBLE service: Made a booking with Auto Europe, my credit card was successfully charged, then 15 minutes later their system cancelled the booking anyway. Now I have to wait 3–5 business days for a refund despite the failure being entirely on their side. Customer service was also terrible β€” long wait times and a very rude agent. This is actually the second time this has happened to me with Auto Europe. I ended up booking through Booking.com instead, which was vastly smoother and easier. Would not use Auto Europe again.

Recently rented for the second time with Auto Europe & could not be happier. Alamo in Vancouver were fantastic. When they heard that we were driving to the snow, they upgraded us to an AWD at no extra cost. Avis in Milan were not quite as good, but by & large the rental went smoothly ( at the most amazing cost - $650AUD for 19 days for a mid size SUV ). I guess we are lucky that we know the system - having actually worked in car rental for over 20 years - but it does seem that a lot of the complaints stem from the fact that people do not bother to read the terms & conditions before they book. However, even we have had a few horror show rentals over the years - booked with the likes of Kayak, Airport Rentals, Vroom, Vroom, Vroom etc - but now Auto Europe will be our first port of call whenever we travel. PS Avoid Sixt at Dublin Airport like the plague.

I’ve rented a car for almost 3 weeks while on holiday. Unfortunately there was some damage that I caused. Thanks to the insurance I got it all back. Communication-good, responding time good, price best I could find in Sydney. Thanks guys I’ll probably go with your company next time I’m in Australia ( really hope it’s soon ) All the best!

I rented a vehicle at Balina airport and was overcharge by almost 2.5hrs this meant i needed to pay for an extra day. There are cameras that time stamp you hired car in and out of the airport and had i not checked my invoice correctly i would have not known about the over charge. I have to wait 3 to 5 bussiness days to get a refund on something that is not my issue Additional i asked for an investigation as to why this occurred and am yet to hear back. Not sure if this has happened to other people? Please double check invoices and Maybe take your own time stamp pictures once the car is dropped off

This is the WORST car rental I have ever worked with in my entire life. I booked a car for 3 weeks overseas for AUD 500, but they added a "Refundable Excess" of another AUD 500 I did NOT authorize. I ended up paying AUD 1030 dollars instead of less than 500 offfered by other car dealers. When I called them, one guy answered and said "it is your fault you ticket the box that you wanted extra insurance" which I am not stupid to pay double the price to hire a car. I said I want to talk to your manager, he said "I am a team leader here, no manager" I insisted and he said "ok let me check she is here" then he put me on hold for 25 minutes and then he hung up the call on my face. I called again, and one very rude and very unprofessional woman responded, and she started shouting at me and interrupting me and then she said "I am terminating the call" and she ALSO hung up on my face. What service is this?? This is the WORST car dealer I have ever worked with and be careful. they will tick all the boxes and accuse you of doing so. I will submit a formal complaint to ACCC. I felt abused by these guys. They took away AUD 500 from me without my authorization and they were extremely rude, unprof
