Biddigal Reserve, North Bondi: A Local Oasis Worth the Wait Perched on the northern hillside of Bondi Beach along Ramsgate Avenue, Biddigal Reserve is affectionately known to locals as the quieter, family-friendly alternative to the chaotic main strip of Bondi. Offering sweeping, panoramic views of the entire beach, this pocket-sized reserve is a staple for young families, picnickers, and those looking to escape the sand while keeping an eye on the surf. Here is a breakdown of what to expect right now, especially regarding the current lawn maintenance and temporary fencing. The Vibe and Amenities Biddigal Reserve is a gem for a relaxed afternoon. Because it sits elevated right above the North Bondi Children’s Pool, it acts as a perfect transition spot from a salty swim to a grassy lounge. Family-Friendly Layout: Features a small playground, shaded seating areas, and highly popular barbecue facilities. The Artistry: Kids love the iconic mosaic marine sculptures (turtles, octopuses, and sea dragons) scattered around, alongside the massive marine mural down by the pool wall. Accessibility: There is step-free, gentle-gradient access around the plot, making it friendly for prams

Loved this area!!! Came here on Christmas Eve for a BBQ by the beach. Did the traditional shrimp on the Barbie. Total vibe. Very busy from all different cultures. Had a speaker going, everyone joining in singing. Views of the beach.

nice spot next to bondi where u can bbq! There are 2 picknick tables with shade. Make sure u go very early on a Saturday to claim a table/barbecue spot. When we arrived around 10, the tables were already taken. We got lucky that a group was leaving so we could jump on for the rest of the day for a bday celebration. Restrooms are just a few minutes walk away. Best to park at Wilson’s parking for 35$, reserved so u don’t have to stress since the parking nearby is scarce

High enough to offer a great view of Bondi Beach. Good area to have kids play around while the adults sit on the available benches.

Biddigal Reserve – A Quiet Escape Next to Bondi’s Hidden Gems Coming from Vancouver, Canada, where the ocean is calm and clear, I was truly impressed by Biddigal Reserve. Located just a short walk from Wally Weekes Ocean Pool and North Bondi Children’s Pool, this peaceful green space offers a quiet retreat while still being close to Bondi’s iconic coastline. It’s the perfect spot for those looking to enjoy nature, take a leisurely stroll, or have a relaxing picnic. The lush greenery and open spaces of Biddigal Reserve reminded me of my time at Joaquina Beach in Florianópolis, Brazil. Both places offer a sense of calm and tranquility, with beautiful natural surroundings that allow you to unwind and enjoy the ocean breeze. While in Vancouver, I’m used to the peaceful coastal landscapes, and Biddigal Reserve offers a similar vibe, with wide open spaces and a view of the ocean from the distance. After enjoying the nearby pools, Biddigal Reserve is a great place to relax in the shade, take a break from the crowds, or simply enjoy the view. Whether you're looking for a quiet moment to reflect, a place to picnic, or a gentle walk to complete your Bondi experience, this reserve offers a
