Blacktown is in New South Wales, on Australia's east coast, where summers are warm and humid, winters are mild and businesses keep to standard hours year-round with the usual public-holiday changes. Australian addresses list the street number, suburb, state abbreviation and postcode, and Blacktown follows the same pattern; a number like 2/411 means unit 2 at number 411. Based on my experience, customer service at Blacktown City Council is seriously lacking. Rather than listening to customers and investigating complaints fairly, there seems to be a culture of defending staff instead of addressing legitimate concerns. I was left feeling dismissed and unheard. A genuine commitment to accountability and respectful customer service would go a long way.

Dear Mr Nima, I am Senthil K. Muthusamy, and I would like to sincerely thank you for your outstanding support and assistance. A simple thank you does not feel enough to express my appreciation for the help you provided. I was facing some significant issues with my builder, as some required documents were not submitted on time. As a result, the matter was referred to the council, and my documents were passed on to you for certification. You handled my case professionally and efficiently, guided me through the process, and completed the work smoothly. I truly appreciate the effort you put in, including taking the time to meet me in person and ensuring my matter was resolved before the required timeframe. Your dedication, professionalism, and willingness to help made a difficult situation much easier for me. Thank you very much, Nima, for all your support and effort. It is greatly appreciated. If every council had people like you, Blacktown Council would be one of the leading councils in NSW. Thank you once again for your valuable assistance.

It continues to amaze me that Blacktown Council can mobilise resources with military precision to bulldoze a few dirt jumps built by local kids in Stanhope Gardens, yet many of the larger issues facing the community seem to attract considerably less urgency. These jumps aren’t organised crime, vandalism, or anti-social behaviour. They’re built by kids choosing fresh air, exercise, and mateship over sitting indoors staring at screens. In a time when communities are struggling to engage young people in positive activities, one would think initiative and creativity might be encouraged rather than repeatedly flattened by heavy machinery. The message being sent appears to be clear: if you’re a local kid doing something constructive, expect council attention. If you’re looking for action on bigger community priorities, you’ll need considerably more patience. Perhaps it’s time for Council to spend less effort destroying opportunities for young people and more effort addressing the issues residents actually raise concerns about. The kids will rebuild the jumps. The real question is whether Council will rebuild its common sense.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently visited the Blacktown City Council twice in one week to manage an access card collection and return. I was thoroughly impressed by how smooth and quick the entire process was. The Highlights: Professional Staff: The team at the counters (specifically counters 3-7) were efficient and professional, making what could have been a chore very easy. Parking: Finding a spot was no issue at all, as there is dedicated visitor parking available right on-site, which is a massive plus for a quick "in-and-out" visit. Efficiency: Both of my visits were handled with zero fuss. Room for Improvement: While the service is top-notch, the building itself feels a bit quiet and dated. It could definitely use a modern face-lift to make the environment feel a bit more bright and cheerful to match the energy of the staff! Overall, a very positive and functional experience. #hikingdiarybyabid

Dennis Johnson Library’s Wai Man Raymond Koon is truly the most patient, humble, and outstanding JP I have ever met. He made completing my DNA form incredibly easy and completely stress‑free. We need someone like him here permanently. He deserves to be recognised and rewarded as an example for others to follow.
