This toy library operates out of Waverley Library at Bondi Junction where it is marketed after Rhyme Time of its operation. Upon entering, you are advised that you can be a member outside of the LGA to access the services, however it is $75 for 6 months to loan the toys. Well children then know there are toys there and will intuitively choose to play with the toys, in a library where it is a public space. The next day, my children attended Rhyme Time and knowing there were toys at the back, ran in wanting to play. Fronted with a sour faced Woman who then refused them to play unless I paid a $75 6 month fee. Advising her we are in the LGA for only 3 weeks, this is unjustifiable, she then advised it is $50 for 3 months. Complained to a member of staff and then the manager who said they were given a grant because their premises at Bondi Beach was derelect and needed to be demolished they needed a place to operate and it was the Library. I said well that is not users problem as Toy Libraries affiliated with Libraries are usually inclusive in a membership free of charge and children will know there's toys there and want to go in and play. He said I am surprised they didn't just l
