STAY AWAY. Being born and raised in Sydney, it takes a lot for me to say that I have never dealt with such a dishonest, underhanded company - but here we are. My experience with Budget was extremely disappointing and has left me with little confidence in the company's billing practices or customer service. I rented a vehicle from Budget's World Square Sydney location for a one-way trip to Canberra. Right from the outset, something didn't feel right - the car vibrated strangely, but having never driven it before, I thought it was a quirk of the car. During the journey, however, a tyre suffered a sudden, catastrophic failure. I suspect now that the tyre was old/previously repaired, but cannot be sure (you usually check for previous scratches, dents, not tyre repairs). In any case, I was forced to change the tyre on the side of the busy Hume Motorway and I safely fitted the supplied spare tyre at the roadside and returned the vehicle the following day. Worst car rental company! STAY AWAY! Issues: - It took us about 40 minutes or so to finally be able to pick up the car! They’re very slow and inefficient and don’t seem to have enough staff. - The car we booked wasn’t available anymore after all the time waiting. So we had to get something else. - We returned the car, 2 days later I receive a text message telling me that I was supposed to return the car 2 days ago! In the text they were asking me to call to discuss rental extension options. This shows this car rental is chaos and they don’t know what was happening in their systems. - I called them to see what’s happening. Their system is fake! It kept asking me to press options on the phone, and it seems I was in an endless loop! I had to hang up since it wasn’t ending in an actual phone call. - I checked my receipt in my email. They charged $80 to refuel the car, even though we didn’t drive it that much! Keep you money, and go somewhere else that doesn’t try to rip you off!

10/10, would 100% recommend!!! The prices, the customer service (both at the office & over the phone), and the car's spotless condition, were all consistently impressive. I'd book with them again in a heartbeat - no question! The man at the front desk who handled my booking and arranged the car was so helpful, clear, and communicative in every regard. When I had a last-minute change of plans, and called before my return time hoping an extension would be possible, the agent on the phone was so efficient and made the change effortlessly. Drop-off was incredibly easy. Upon arrival, the man at the counter gave me clear instructions proactively - he explained where the car park was, as well as which street would take me directly to its entrance. Thanks to that bit of information I received upfront, I didn’t have to rush or stress at the end of my booking time when returning the car in the CBD (one wrong turn and you're done for!). The car itself was in great condition - really clean, and everything worked properly. We rented a car for our trip to Sydney. The customer service was bad. The person serving us while handing over the car had no information and kept changing his statement. We specifically mentioned for another car and were given a Nissan instead which had so many problems in the car. Yusuf working at this branch was rude, arrogant and kept changing his statements with every customer. The car given to use was purposely not fuel efficient and costed us heaps for 2 days of rental. Disgusting service!

Budget cars allowed us to book a pick up at 12pm on a Saturday despite them closing at 12pm. We arrived on time and the shop was already closed. We have tried ringing multiple different customer service numbers to no avail. Once we managed to speak to someone through booking.com we were told to make a whole new booking for Monday instead which means loosing out on two days of travelling and hotel bookings which are not refundable. Would not recommend.
