This is a gorgeous little museum with free entry. I have walked past it so many times and after 3 years, we decided to go and were impressed. It was particularly cool to be see and to be in the same room with an ancient over 2500 years old sarcophagus.. that was the highlight. The cafe has a great view and the museum is located in a lovely section of USyd, just across from the ol Quad ! I would recommend this to anyone for a visit !!

This museum is located inside University of Sydney, and yes it is open for public. Free entry. Basically they are museum of history, art, sciences, and even cultures. Its not too big, but they do have plenty amazing collections. If i'm not mistaken, theres also a souvenir shop. Sometimes, they also hold events and festival.

Incredible! I thought that I was in Egypt or the Acropolis Museum. A free Museum, easily accessed by public transport..great temporary exhibits as well.. A fabulous foresight and achievement, of the early establishment of the university..and modern day support. Beautifully presented and ,explanations..well worth a visit..

I was pleasantly surprised by the range and number of exhibits having had no expectations. I didn't know this museum existed as a friend suggested it. There are also modern art spaces mainly on the upper levels. The cafe also has great food. We spent about 3 hours there overall. For a free venue it was worth it.

Beautifully displayed artifacts, world class, can't wait to return and continue browsing this collection, an hour was not enough time. I enjoyed this museum more than the powerhouse and the Canberra museum. Easy to get to on public transport. Highly recommend.
