For a place to eat or drink, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open now, is it busy at peak hours, and does the menu suit the group you are bringing. Australian cafes tend to open early and close mid-afternoon, while restaurants and pubs run lunch and dinner services with a quiet spell in between, so an off-peak visit is worth a quick call. Card and tap-to-pay are accepted almost everywhere; some venues add a surcharge on weekends and public holidays.

Coogee is in New South Wales, on Australia's east coast, where summers are warm and humid, winters are mild and businesses keep to standard hours year-round with the usual public-holiday changes. Australian addresses list the street number, suburb, state abbreviation and postcode, and Coogee follows the same pattern; a number like 2/411 means unit 2 at number 411. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We had an excellent experience here! Family of four with two little ones under 7, stayed in July. We stayed at the boutique hotel, it was directly over some pubs and near others but we didnt have any problem with noise. The pubs were celebrating the world cup so lots of action. A bit of street noise but not bad and kids slept through it. The food/room service was good and popular with the kids. Lots of great food options early and late. Fantastic location for walking or catching a cab. Building is old but well done, character in a good way. The old wood is well cared for. Rooms were clean and kids loved the little bay window seat. The only "down-side" is to get to the hotel you have to go across a delivery bay and go through the bar/restaurant but staff were very helpful getting us to the entrance. There is no lift but stairs are short and kids had fun climbing and seeing the photos of musicians in the hall. Overall great time and will definitely come again! Thanks Coogee Bay Hotel!

The Coogee bay hotel is one of my favourite places to come too for a weekend with some mates, the service from the staff there are excellent! The food is delicious and the security are excellent as well ! In particular two guards named Brad and Matt gets a honourable mention last Sunday for their professionalism and delightful attitude towards patrons of the venue! My whole experience with staff/ Security have been nothing short of a pleasure and I will be returning in the near future!

Incredibly overpriced. They advertise $6 schooners that are actually $9.50 during happy hour. Security is genuinely rude, awful and are often quite physical especially around the later hours. The sitting is decent and the view is acceptable, but despite the poor experience, unfortunately this is the only bar in the suburb so it is difficult to compare. While the Coogee bay hotel has a really bad history, especially with the legal case around the member of staff who shat in someoneβs icecream, due to the limited options of bars in the area, it is one of the only options if you donβt want to grab a few drinks by the bottle shop nearby and head up the hill. Some days itβs a decent option youβll have to fall back on.

We had a great experience at Coffee Bay Hotel. The food was really good, and the portion sizes were generous, which was a nice bonus. Definitely good value for money. A solid spot if youβre after a satisfying meal β we left full and happy.

Didn't stay in the hotel this time but the food is awesome! Miss the breakfast by half hour so settled for a club sandwich. Laura greeted us at the front desk with a big smile and made us feel very comfortable throughout our experience. A customer service was spot-on, courteous and above all very friendly. Come by and say hello and enjoy the big screen π₯οΈ

A huge thank you to the team at Coogee Bay Hotel for making our staff party absolutely perfect. From start to finish, everyone went above and beyond to ensure we all had a fantastic night. The service was exceptional, the food was delicious and the entire evening ran seamlessly. Ami, the event manager, was fantastic to work with in the lead up to the night. On the night Amy, the event supervisor and her team were incredibly helpful and attentive... nothing was too much trouble. A brilliant venue with an outstanding team. Weβll absolutely be back.

Amazing service, especially matty and ciarda - absolute legends. Both deserve their flowers for their expert bartending and amazing customer service. Both created an amazing night for me and my group with their lovely nature. Would highly recommend.
