Amazing place with a beautiful Nepali theme that instantly made me feel at home. The live music created such a great vibe, the food was authentic and delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect for relaxing. A big thanks to the friendly waiter for the excellent service. Definitely one of the best spots for Nepali food. Highly recommended!

I love everything in my plates. the fried rice tastes so good, big portion with a lot of topping (I chose the chicken one). the paneer momo is also mouthering. the paneer & tomatoes sauce are perfect (it's not the way too sour & salty). the mango lassi is my favorite. the mango is sweet but not really, just precise, perfect. the rasmalai is also my favorite. the sweet cheese is perfect. all I have today are so worth to order. the live music makes the ambience become perfect. and a warm hospitality from the lovely staff, monica really makes me as a guest feel so welcome and happy to have a dinner here. 😊

Was randomly craving biryani and spent ages scrolling Uber Eats & Google around Hurstville, Kogarah and Rockdale, but most reviews put me off ordering. Came across Darbar Lounge’s Chicken Biryani while checking Nepalese restaurants and decided to take the risk since they claimed it was their best seller β€” and honestly, no regrets 🀍 The smell was amazing, colour looked so good, cashews perfectly roasted, rice full of flavour and chicken cooked really well. Portion was worth the price too, easily two meals for me. After such a long time, I finally had a really good biryani β€” mouth and heart fully satisfied πŸ‘Œ

POV: You found the ultimate Nepalese feast in Sydney and your tastebuds aren't ready for the heat! πŸ”₯πŸ‡³πŸ‡΅ I recently dropped by @darbarloungesydney to dive into some authentic Nepalese flavors, and let’s just say, the spice is realβ€”but the flavor is even better. From the first bite of the street-style snacks to the rich, comforting mains, every dish was a total standout. Here’s the full lineup from the Reel: Laphing: That silky, spicy, and chilled mung bean noodle roll that hits every single time. Pani Puri: A classic for a reason! Cracking into those crispy shells and pouring in that tangy, spiced water is the ultimate interactive snack. Chicken Lollipop: Perfectly fried and served with a kick of Nepalese dipping sauce. Bhatmas Sandheko: Roasted soybeans tossed with ginger, garlic, and onionsβ€”the crunch is addictive. Butter Chicken & Naan: For when you need that creamy, dreamy comfort to balance out the heat. Momo Platter: You can’t go to a Nepalese spot and not get the momos. We tried the steamed, fried, and even some vibrant tandoori/chilli versions. πŸ₯Ÿ Spiral Sausages: A fun, smoky twist on a classic snack. If you can handle the spice, this is a 10/10 recommendation. The atmosphere

My first experience at Durbar wasn’t very memorable. However, I’ve continued to visit over time, and this recent experience was absolutely exceptional. The food was outstanding from start to finish. The meat platter and momo platter were highlights of the evening β€” beautifully presented and full of flavour. The buff sukuti was perfectly done, rich and well-seasoned. The hakula sekuwa was equally impressive, and the sukuti momo stood out as something truly unique and memorable. A special mention to Diya, who looked after our table with great professionalism and warmth. She took the time to explain each dish thoroughly, which truly enhanced our dining experience. Thank you, Diya, for your excellent service. We will definitely be returning again and again.
