Eating out in Australia ranges from beachside takeaways to hatted dining rooms, and a listing like this one is best judged on freshness, turnover and how consistent the reviews are rather than on decor. If you have dietary needs, most kitchens will adapt a dish if you ask. Licensed venues serve alcohol; BYO places let you bring a bottle for a small corkage fee. Tipping is appreciated but never expected.

Sydney is in New South Wales, on Australia's east coast, where summers are warm and humid, winters are mild and businesses keep to standard hours year-round with the usual public-holiday changes. Getting around Sydney is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy centres, and most suburban shops have their own car park. Public transport and ride-share apps such as Uber and DiDi operate across New South Wales's larger cities.

Superb food in a busy but relaxed bookstore mez level location. Suggest booking as it can get very busy, which is a testament to the quality of the food. Can highly recommend the Chakhokhbili, Piroshki with Beef, and the Lamb Pilaf. For dessert try the Napoleon, and the Honey Cake. Wonderful flavours abound. Enjoy.

Came here for lunch - we had a booking & I'd highly recommend making a booking if coming here during busy times. The waiter who served us properly cleaned the table before we sat down. A different wait staff in preparing a table opposite us, used the menus to sweep the crumbs to the floor - they didn't wipe the table down before the next guests. The food we ordered was well presented and tasty. We love the vibe of the cafe and will visit again.

Went in for a simple meal and ended up with one of those perfect cold-weather combos β soup borsh with meat and a side of pirozhki. The borsh was exactly what you want in winter: hot, rich, comforting, the kind of thing that actually warms you up properly. Feels very traditional, like the kind of meal youβd crave on a freezing day. If youβre getting it, itβs worth adding the pirozhki with meat too β they go really well together. Thereβs also vegetarian options for both, which is nice. And if you order them as a combo, you save a bit compared to getting them separately. Simple food, done right. Definitely a good pick for lunch or dinner when itβs cold.

Iβve been coming here for over 10 years, and honestlyβ¦ it just keeps getting better. The food? Absolutely incredible. Every single time. Itβs the kind of place where you start thinking about your next visit before you even leave. Yes β weekends and lunch can get super busy. But trust me, itβs 100% worth the wait. They even bring water to people standing in line, which already says a lot about how they treat their guests. And the ownerβ¦ such a genuinely kind person, always present, always making sure everyone feels taken care of. You can feel the heart behind this place. I truly donβt understand why itβs not rated 6 stars already. Maybe because itβs Russian and Ukrainian cuisine β but honestly, that just makes it even more special. If you havenβt been yet, youβre seriously missing out.

Love the atmosphere here! Pity that we canβt study or work hereβ¦ the Vienna (black) coffee had chocolatey notes, the cream was nice and cool and sprinkled with a tad bit of chocolate. For the main meal I ordered chicken and veggie soup (comes with sourdough). It has potatoβs, chicken (obviously), carrot and other veggies in it. It was warm and the veggies melt into your mouth. Though there were way too many green toppings- it all i could taste in every bite πββοΈβ¦ The waitress was so lovely and accomodating. She had a kind smile and was polite and patient with me, suggesting options near to what I was trying to explain.
