For a place to eat or drink, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open now, is it busy at peak hours, and does the menu suit the group you are bringing. Australian cafes tend to open early and close mid-afternoon, while restaurants and pubs run lunch and dinner services with a quiet spell in between, so an off-peak visit is worth a quick call. Card and tap-to-pay are accepted almost everywhere; some venues add a surcharge on weekends and public holidays.

Opening hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 7:30 am–9 pm. Hours in Australia do change around public holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. No phone number is listed for this business, so the Google Maps link on this page is the best route for directions and any contact details Google has on file. Its website is gongchatea.com.au, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Worst experience i’ve ever had. This was my first visit to Gong Cha in Newtown, and i regretted even coming there. I wanted to order a lychee oolong with aloe vera. The girl who took my order had zero communication skills and was rude. She asked me multiple times to repeat things (which was completely fine), but every time she did, she made an annoyed face. i kindly asked if the drink came with any pearls, but i didn’t get a clear answer. Instead of explaining that it comes with aloe vera pearls, they added black pearls to my drink for an extra charge and removed the original ones (Btw no one was behind me, they weren’t in a rush, they just didn’t want to properly communicate with customer and answering the simple question about drink). Apart from that, the drink itself was very dark, event though it’s not supposed to look like that (I checked the online menu afterwards), and the taste was questionable. Overall, i had the worst customer experience. i was charged extra and didn’t even get the drink i originally wanted from the basic menu.

Visited Gong Cha today and was greeted with amazing customer service. I ordered an Earl Grey milk tea with lychee and black pearls, and it was absolutely delicious. The drink was made perfectly, and I had a great experience overall!

I ordered a grapefruit green tea, which should have been fresh and not overly sweet. OMG, the new young staff member seemed like he didn’t know how to make green tea at all — about 80% of the drink was syrup. The drink was horrible. The boss really should spend more time training the staff.

One of the best Gong Cha's store in Sydney. The place is soo comfy and clean. Your staff is great but i think it'll be better if you greet the customer with smile on your face since you work in hospitality industry <3

Amicable customer services, yummiest drinks, my favourite is Taro milk tea and Royal milk tea with pearls, strongly recommend!!!!! Hot drinks are also tasty, especially on cold weather, everyone should try them out.
