I'm currently at the Guildford Hotel, and once again Sharlie has reminded me why she is such an incredible manager. The atmosphere she creates is welcoming, professional, and enjoyable for everyone. It's no surprise to see VIP guests choosing to spend their time here, which is a testament to the relationships she has built and the reputation she has helped create. What sets Sharlie apart is that, despite being the manager, she's never afraid to roll up her sleeves and work alongside her team. When the venue gets busy and the pressure is on, she's right there helping on the floor, supporting her staff, and leading by example. Her willingness to get involved earns the respect of both her team and the customers. Her customer service is exceptional, and she genuinely makes every guest feel valued. She is approachable, attentive, and always goes the extra mile to ensure everyone has a great experience. Her leadership, work ethic, and dedication are evident in everything she does. Stayed at the Guildford Hotel recently and there are definitely some positives and negatives. One of the biggest advantages is the location. It’s very close to the train station, making it easy to get around without a car. If you’re driving, parking can take a bit of patience, but there is generally parking available nearby if you’re willing to look around. The hotel also has a late-night advantage, especially on weekends, with access and activity around the venue continuing until around 4am. If you’re planning to enjoy the bar, live music, or nightlife, that’s a plus. However, guests should be aware that many of the rooms are located directly above the main pub and live music area. On Friday and Saturday nights, noise is a significant issue and you shouldn’t expect a quiet night’s sleep while bands are playing. The communal bathroom facilities were disappointing. The showers feel dated, poorly maintained, and in need of refurbishment. Water pressure was also quite low, which added to the overall impression that these facilities have been neglected. Went to the pub to watch the footy and how good it was! Wasn’t expecting to see ex 1st grade players there hosting the Bulldogs game, which after speaking with management is something they do for every away game. The atmosphere was fantastic super engaging and enjoyable from start to finish. The beer towers were a great price, the food was delicious, and the service was top notch. The new manager and staff were all super friendly and welcoming. Definitely will be back such a great local pub!
