I ordered vodka cranberry and literally watched him pour no vodka, genuinely a disappointing club with disappointing music and service. bartender was on the 2nd floor 8/5/2026 at around midnight, blondish hair. fix your game. who even owns the ivy? a bunch of clowns who hire from their own circus hahaha

Incredibly rude staff/bouncers, picked me out of the line and said I did not have closed shoes on, which was not stated anywhere. There was no compromise and their tone was awful. Would not recommend.

I'd like to know why they discriminate against people so much for no reason. One day they turned my husband away, and we don't even know why. The guards always call the manager and never let us in. I'd like an explanation and for someone from this place to contact me because I'm tired of this situation. Of course, if they tell me to go somewhere, I won't go there for fun, but to always know why we can't get in. They've done this to us three times; it's incredibly humiliating. They won't let Jimmy or Ivy in, and they've kicked us out in the worst way without even speaking to us.

TLDR: Popular but overpriced and lacklustre, staff have been known to be rude and aggressive to people of color. Price to enter: $25-30 while venues nearby are free The Ivy is a decent enough venue to enjoy your time and hang out with mates, the atmosphere and music are nice but when considering your time with the outrageous price I can hardly say it’s worth it. The drinks and price of entry seem overbearing considering venues next door a minute walk away are free to enter, the Ivy on thursdays seems to overprice their drinks a lot compared to their close proximity competitors due to knowing they get away with it being the hot place in town. Though Ivy is one of the most popular places in Sydney to enjoy your Thursday night I can’t speak too highly of it, the venue’s choice of music is usually lacklustre considering the budget and revenue of the club. I can’t say I’ve had a good time with the music at ivy’s since the hiring of dj’s seems of low quality. Ivy on thursdays seems to appeal too the masses with a low budget attached to it, low effort music and low effort drinks with a hefty price attached. Though I haven’t had much experience with the staff I’ve heard way too many

Great atmosphere if you’re looking to let everything go! The venue plays a mix of RNB, house, electro mashups and party anthems. The venue also has a terrace bar if you want to avoid the crowds on the main dance floor making it much easier to pay for drinks. Smoking and vaping is also allowed on the terrace. Otherwise all in all a place worth spending a weekend night out.

Nice place for dance. However it is definately cathered to the younger crowds of early 20s. U may see a few 30s. So U will feel out of place if U r in 40s n above. Wish they have a nice dance club that attracts the 30s to 60s crowd as they are the money payers. Not just bars we have plenty of those in Sydney. Top notch bars. But a nice dance club. So if U r in yr 20s go for it.

Very very expensive drinks which feel really weak, and cold on the main floor but upper floor is heated. Selection music kinda bad though, the DJs don’t seem to transition or mix songs very cohesively.
