My friend and I bought instant noodle cups and asked the cashier to fill them with hot water — which he did. After that, I went to pour the hot water out into the bowl that’s always sitting there. I’ve seen plenty of students do the same thing, and the bowl already had rubbish and leftover water in it, so it genuinely looked like that’s what customers were supposed to use. There were no signs saying not to. As I was pouring the water out, the manager suddenly started shouting at me in Chinese. I understood her, but if someone wasn’t Chinese, they would have had no idea what was happening because she didn’t speak English. Her tone and expression were extremely rude and condescending, like she thought she could talk down to me just because I’m a student. What made it worse was that the cashier who had just helped us stood next to her smiling while she was scolding me. It felt unprofessional and humiliating. Clear signs and basic respect would have prevented this whole situation. I won’t be coming back.

The service staff were extremely terrible—really, really awful. I visited three times and was served by three different employees, but the service was consistently bad in exactly the same way each time.

Stopped by to pick up a few 'exotic' beers on the way to the train station. Great selection to introduce yourself to, and the staff we're amazing. Even gave me a free snack to entice me back - promo definately worked, will be back soon.

I used to be a loyal customer here until I found out they put expired cake up into the fridge twice. When I came back home, I realised the chocolate cake is expired after one bite because it taste really sour. It was disgusting, I have to wash my mouth several times to get rid of the sourness. I checked the label, it has few days before expiration. How come it taste like this?? Ohh, because they changed the label on the top pretend it is still good to sell. Also, the snack I got today was bad too, the Rick cracker supposed to be crunchy but it taste like it has been there for a long time, humid and no crunchiness at all. Do not buy here. They sell expired products to customers to earn more money!!!!!! Joymart lost their the most loyal customer! I’ve been coming for one year, keep forgiving their mistakes. From now on, no more shopping from there. Wait, one more thing, they will try to charge u more, take close look at the receipt. I spotted it out one time, they didn’t apologise or anything.

Be careful about what you purchase from them, and always get a receipt just in case. I bought a box of tofu, and the package showed an expiry date of 25th April (I purchased it on 19th March). The next day, when I opened the box, the tofu looked sticky and yellowish on top—very disgusting. When I contacted the shop, they asked me to bring it back and provide the receipt. Luckily, my bank app shows the time and amount of the transaction, so they agreed to give me a refund. The tofu has been thrown away, I am not going to carry the sticky tofu around and waste my time!
