I attended KODA as a model for a balayage appointment and paid the required model fee. I was actually excited to learn that the owner, Diane, would be doing my hair, as I assumed I would be in very experienced hands. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. There was little to no consultation before the service. I wasn't asked in any detail about my goals, concerns, or the result I was hoping to achieve. Instead, the colour process seemed to proceed without much discussion, and I trusted the stylist's expertise. When my hair was finished, I was left with obvious orange stripes/chunks through my hair. The result was patchy and not what I had expected from a professional salon, let alone from the owner herself. Another staff member later attempted to correct it, but I left with an ashy grey result that still wasn't right. What has been most disappointing is the salon's response afterward. I contacted them with photos and requested a refund. While they acknowledged my dissatisfaction, they refused to refund me, citing their model policy. I honestly cannot recommend this salon enough! I walked into my appointment feeling completely defeated after a botched hair colour I had done overseas. I was embarrassed, emotional, and crying because my hair had left me feeling so unconfident. From the moment I arrived, the team was kind, patient, and reassuring. They listened without judgement and made me feel like I was in safe hands. The level of care and expertise they showed was incredible. Not only did Louis fix my hair, he transformed it. I walked out feeling beautiful, confident, and like myself again which I didn’t think was possible when I first walked in. The colour is perfect, and exactly what I had hoped for. Thank you for turning such a stressful experience into such a positive one. Forever grateful ❤️

The staff are super friendly, professional, and highly skilled. I’m really happy with my haircut and styling — exactly what I wanted. The salon environment is clean, modern, and very relaxing. You can truly feel the quality and care in their service. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a premium hair salon experience in Bondi. Will definitely come back again! 💇‍♂️✨

I’ve been going to Koda Cutters Bondi Beach for years and I’m always so happy with my hair! The stylists genuinely listen to what you want and also give great, honest advice. Diane is the absolute best. I walk out feeling confident every single time. Couldn’t recommend them more.

Experience was not ideal at all. Went in for a balayage with Louis. Showed pictures that he didn’t really look at and was adamant that a half head of foils was better, which I said I agreed to as long as it grew out nicely and wasn’t harsh. No words can explain how patronising, condescending, and downright rude this man was. He made passive aggressive comments about me being on my phone (i’m not paying you 500 dollars to chat), told me that I have “SO MANY GREY HAIRS” (I am literally 19 years old), told me I have a bad haircut, and made condescending comments about my hobbies, job, and life. After he had a go about me being on my phone, I decided to make a conscious effort at conversation, asking questions to which he would respond in a rude tone stating “wouldn’t you like to know”. Don’t have a go at me for being on my phone and not speaking then be rude when I do. He also told me that I should come back to get my “badly done” haircut fixed, but not for a few months because he said quote on quote sneeringly “I don’t want to see you THAT soon”. Honestly, I’m quite a chill person but you really can’t be speaking to a first time client that way, especially when they are young. You wo
