For a place to eat or drink, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open now, is it busy at peak hours, and does the menu suit the group you are bringing. Australian cafes tend to open early and close mid-afternoon, while restaurants and pubs run lunch and dinner services with a quiet spell in between, so an off-peak visit is worth a quick call. Card and tap-to-pay are accepted almost everywhere; some venues add a surcharge on weekends and public holidays.

Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a mobile. Its website is facebook.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Bankstown is in New South Wales, on Australia's east coast, where summers are warm and humid, winters are mild and businesses keep to standard hours year-round with the usual public-holiday changes. Getting around Bankstown is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy centres, and most suburban shops have their own car park. Public transport and ride-share apps such as Uber and DiDi operate across New South Wales's larger cities.

Decided to try La Ca 43 because we love Vietnamese food and wanted to try somewhere new. Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing overall. The biggest issue was the service. When we placed our order, the order wasn’t written down, we simply pointed out what we wanted and the staff member repeated it back to us. Despite that, several things were missed. Our drinks came last, with my partner receiving his drink well after we had started eating, while my drink didn’t arrive until we were essentially finished and ready to pay. I also ordered a vermicelli pork bowl, which was forgotten entirely. I had to ask about it, and by the time it was acknowledged, I had already lost my appetite and was ready to leave. I'm certainly not expecting 10/10 service. But the bare minimum in hospitality is making sure orders are taken correctly and checking that customers have received what they ordered. As for the food, there were definitely some positives. The broken rice with lemongrass pork and lemongrass chicken was beautiful and probably the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, some of the other dishes were a big let-down, especially considering the prices. The mussels were the bi

We came in today on a quiet Wednesday. The food was good and the owners took time to made it. We ordered the grilled chicken with broken rice, special com tam (grilled pork ribs) with broken rice, and banh canh (tapioca noodles). Don’t be discouraged by the quiet ambience, it is worth a try, especially with the reasonable price. Next time I’ll try more special dishes like nem lui and bo nhung dam :)

First time to dine here. Food is tasty, very affordable and very generous serving. I'll be back to try your other hot pot.

The first time visiting La Ca 43 and the broken rice (cΖ‘m tαΊ₯m) was the highlight β€” so good. The pork was tender and flavourful, and the fish sauce on the side tasted just like any good cΖ‘m tαΊ₯m spot in Saigon. The crab noodles were a bit light for me, but still good. I’ll definitely be back to try the rest. Bonus: the staff and the owner are really friendly and lovely.

An authentic Vietnamese restaurant that focuses on specialities from Da Nang, it is quite welcoming to see another region of Vietnamese food offered in Bankstown. The Pho Bo Dac Biet has a simple and light broth and usually vermicelli noodles. Beef slices were fresh and it included a crab roe ball. The pork chop was well marinated and the nem nuong was grilled well. The ice coffee was strong. The food came quickly and staff was friendly. Overall enjoyed my visit here. πŸ‘
