The website says they close at 9:00 PM, but I was kicked out at 8:42 PM. A staff member abruptly threw open the steam room door and rudely demanded that I get out immediately. No polite reminder, no courtesy warning—just pure attitude. I understand wanting to close on time, but there is no excuse for treating paying customers with such disrespect. Completely unprofessional. I won't pay visit there anymore!

I was a member at the fitness centre but after a minor card scan issue, the receptionist was extremely dismissive and rude handling the situation. He lacked any basic customer service skills and didn't treat me with any respect - awful treatment after attending for months. On top of that, the gym is extremely small, has very limited equipment, and isn't worth the price of a membership. There are better gyms out there with staff that know how to treat their paying members - do not recommend.

Manly Aquatic Centre truly stands out as a top-tier facility for swimmers, fitness enthusiasts, and families. The centre boasts an impressive array of amenities, including both indoor and outdoor pools that cater to every need—whether you’re after serious lap swimming, rehabilitation, or just fun in the water with the kids. Outdoors, you’ll find a spacious 50-metre pool perfect for training or leisurely swims, alongside a 25-metre pool and a fantastic splash area for children. Indoors, the centre features a heated 25-metre pool, a small but super-warm rehabilitation pool, and a brilliant indoor kids’ splash pool complete with sprayers and a slippery slide, making it a year-round destination no matter the weather. Beyond the pools, the wellness options are exceptional. The sauna is notably hot—ideal for those who love a serious sweat—and there’s also a spa and steam room to help you relax after a workout. The gym is modern and well-equipped, available at an extra cost, adding great value for fitness buffs. Classes such as yoga, Pilates, boxing, and aqua aerobics are also on offer, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Parking is straightforward if you don’t mind a short walk up t

(3.5 stars) This is the second swimming complex in Sydney named after the legendary Andrew ‘Boy’ Charlton and it dwarfs its Woolloomooloo namesake. With seven pools for various purposes and audiences - four outdoors and three indoors- plus a large spa, it’s epic. You can see how it has grown and been added to over many decades, from a simple 1m deep 25m outdoor pool to the very modern indoor pools with water play features, but our preferred swim here was the 50m outdoor Olympic pool. The water temperature was perfect, it’s salt water chlorinated (yay!) making for a buoyant and pleasant water experience. Unfortunately on a hot Sunday there was only one lane of it devoted to recreational swimmers. This particular pool has history too, having had big names like Michael Phelps train in it… but he probably would’ve been appalled by our languid paddling and floating around on a hot Summer’s day. The historical accretion of facilities means there are two entire sets of change rooms to choose from, plus an indoor cafe, with plenty of free parking in the car park or on the street.

Clean pools and modern GYM, definitely recommended! Great space to spend time with kids and training. Early mornings get way too busy with Swimming Squads take over almost all of the pools. Sauna is good but also, watch out it gets busy…
