I had a very disappointing experience with this property. After cancelling my booking, it was still showing as active in the app. I tried many times to contact the guesthouse using the provided phone number, but no one answered. Even Booking.com could not reach them. I personally went to the property around 5:15 PM on the check-in day, but later I was marked as a “no-show,” which is incorrect. The receptionist also told me that I would receive around 85% refund, which gave me hope. Later, management refused everything and kept the full amount. This shows poor communication, misleading information, and lack of fairness. Guests should not be treated this way. I would not recommend staying here.

Manly beach guesthouse is definitely a basic hostel vibe. The staff allowed us to keep our big luggage before we checked in which was immediately nice. We then checked in and the room was very small but in fairness it was exactly how it was stated online (8m). It could have been cleaner we thought; still sandy and a few hairs! But sand gets everywhere!! There was a brush so we did it ourselves which was fine!! It did have a fridge and a fan which was decent. The shared kitchen was okay and I saw the staff cleaning it daily. Same for the shared bathrooms- whilst we were there they were mostly clean ( very sandy in part but I feel that’s because of inconsiderate guests not the hostel), good shower pressure which was hot and always provided shower gel. Because of the heavy fire doors every door seemed to slam which was quiet loud and with people coming and going this happened at all times. Again on checkout the staff very kindly let us keep our bags which we massively appreciated. For me, the location of the hostel is IDEAL. 10 min from the wharf, Coles and the shops. 30 seconds to the beach. It really cannot be topped! We spent a week here over Christmas. Perfect spot for Manly beach swims and walks. More of a hostel than hotel. Clean rooms, ours #2 faced west so hot in afternoons. No ceiling fans and minimal storage for clothes & hanging. 2 dyson floor fans helped at night. Huge share kitchen and all visitors were respectful of other guests. Budget accommodation with easy access to shops, transport and restaurants. No staff on site,( Anne lovely but also managing 4 other properties) ,so some delays getting electrical repairs to room fixed & pillows changed. Recommended for cost,location, cleanliness and beach access.
