Haymarket is in New South Wales, on Australia's east coast, where summers are warm and humid, winters are mild and businesses keep to standard hours year-round with the usual public-holiday changes. I am glad that the food court is clean, management even hired uniforms cleaner to clean up the tables immediately after we finished our meals. The floors on this level are very clean and look new. What would make this place even better would be some relaxing music to enjoy our foods. How about some more greenies, some fresh and real pot plants to cheer up the atmosphere ? The place looks clean which is good- but it too a bit too sterile or stiff.

Market City is a real lifesaver during my work trip in Sydney. Itβs one of the easiest places to find a wide range of Asian ingredients, especially if you prefer cooking for yourself instead of eating out all the time. The selection is solidβeverything from basic essentials to more specific items that can be hard to find elsewhere. It makes daily meals much more manageable and flexible. If youβre staying for a few days and want access to familiar Asian groceries, this place is extremely convenient.

View @ Paddy's Markets Haymarket / Market City Shopping Centre. . Opened in 1997, this sprawling mall in Sydney's Chinatown is known for its iconic red brick facade, and houses 30 factory outlets offering heavily discounted goods, alongside 50 other retail shops. . The ground floor houses the iconic budget-friendly market for growers and producers, a bustling space that is a key spot for fresh fruit, vegetables, seafood, and produce.

Festive Fun and Fantastic Food at Market City Visited Market City in Haymarket on Lunar New Year Day 2026 and had a wonderful time soaking up the festive atmosphere. The moment I walked into the large foyer, I was greeted by a spectacular giant golden horse display β it was absolutely stunning and really captured the spirit of the Year of the Horse. The intricate design and golden glow made it a perfect photo spot, and it drew a crowd of families and visitors all eager to take in the festive vibes. After enjoying the decorations, we headed upstairs to the 1909 Dining Precinct, and it did not disappoint. The variety of good quality restaurants here is impressive β plenty of authentic Asian eateries offering everything from hotpot to noodles and dumplings. We grabbed a fantastic meal, and the lively atmosphere added to the whole experience. It was busy, but the energy was positive and everyone seemed to be having a great time celebrating. Market City really knows how to do Lunar New Year in style. A great spot for food, festivities, and family fun β highly recommend stopping by during the celebrations.
