Easy check in and good service. I have spoken to Dr Ying Lan recently regarding my injury. She has shown extensive care and empathy. Provided with good diagnosis and recommendations. She also went above and beyond to referred good support for my recovery plan.

I usually preferred seeing the same doctor because I thought continuity of care would be beneficial. However, over time, I felt that she became increasingly impatient with me. During my most recent appointment, I was going through a particularly difficult period mentally. I was trying my best to describe my symptoms as accurately as possible, but I was interrupted several times before I could fully explain what had been happening recently. My impression was that, because she was already familiar with my medical history, she assumed she knew what was wrong and no longer felt it was necessary to listen to my full explanation. When she asked me questions, I gave detailed answers because I wanted to be precise and avoid misunderstanding my symptoms. Instead, she became impatient and repeatedly rushed me by asking the same question again before I had finished answering. I don’t want to go into any more details because revisiting the experience brings me back to a very uncomfortable time in my life. I do want to say that the reception staff and the pharmacy staff were consistently kind and helpful. I’m sure there may be other doctors here who provide a better patient experience. Unfo

I went for an appointment today with Dr Trung Ngo - and it was a very strange experience. Firstly, he was more than 40 minutes late. Secondly, while waiting in the hallway, there were at least three doctors arguing very loudly and aggressively which was easily heard in the waiting room. Someone went to knock on Dr Ngoβ€˜s door and he opened it and said β€œjust wait… I’m very delayed.” When I finally had my appointment, the first thing he said to me was β€œI’m really annoyed about how much people are impatient with me.. I’m just trying to do my job.” It was very unprofessional and I was just agreeing with him so I could get on with my appointment. When I finally asked about the issues I had. He brushed me off as quickly as possible so he could get me out of the room on time and get back on track. All in all, a terrible experience and would highly not recommend this practice if you care about your health.

I had a very disappointing experience at Medicentral during my child’s vaccination appointment today (Saturday). I arrived on time for our 11:30am booking and informed the nurse that my daughter had taken Panadol 30 minutes prior, as advised by our doctor, and kindly asked if it would be possible to proceed when available. There was only one nurse on duty, which I understand, and I was willing to wait. However, after finishing with other patients, she closed the door and made no effort to call us in, despite knowing we were waiting and concerned about timing. When I approached the doctor out of concern, the nurse immediately responded and told me there was β€œno need” to do so. She then stated that patients should not rush nurses, claimed that her heart rate had increased because of me, and left us waiting again. Throughout the vaccination process, her attitude was unprofessional, dismissive, and at times felt verbally intimidating. As a parent bringing a young child in for care, this was extremely distressing. Healthcare professionals, especially those working with children, should demonstrate patience, empathy, and professionalism. Unfortunately, this experience fell far below

Update: following this review, the practice contacted me on the phone number I gave them for my medical care and asked me to amend the review. I’ve chosen to leave it up and add this note instead. I do have some privacy concerns as a health provider generally can’t use the information for an unrelated secondary purpose. Original comment: I visited Dr Ying Lan as a new patient seeking a Mental Health Care Plan, as I saw some good reviews about her. I disclosed passive suicidal ideation during the consultation. Her response felt procedural. When I tried to describe my experience, she repeated the same closed question. She declined to provide a Mental Health Care Plan, stating I should return to my previous GP (who is now 20km away, which is why I sought a new GP) and required a blood test as a prerequisite. To my understanding, neither is a standard requirement for initiating an MHCP. She also commented that I had taken 45 minutes of her time. During the β€œ45 mins”, she brought 3 other patients into the room. I left feeling worse than when I arrived. For anyone seeking mental health support, I would recommend looking elsewhere. Receptionists and nurses are professional and nice.
