The best Chinese you could find around! We ordered beef noodles and prawn rice; both delicious, not too salty not too spicy; all the flavors were just delicately balanced. It’s not too fancy, more like something you can find at home; we really enjoyed the food, definitely will come back. Highly recommended if you are looking for something unique and delicious!

The food is fantastic. Chongqing/Sichuan style spicy beef noodle soup is one of my favourite dishes and something I always order when given the opportunity. This restaurant has the best soup I’ve had in Australia - the depth of flavour is unmatched. It is less spicy than I expected, but the flavour is so good I feel like I don’t need it to be spicier. I’ve only ever ordered the signature beef soup noodles but my family have loved the pork soup noodles and salt and pepper calamari. The restaurant is also just incredibly cute and has great vibes. The decor and the art is lovely to look at and the windows are tinted in such a way that you totally forget it’s on a fairly busy road.

Meiqi is a lovely family run restaurant that offer very authentic Sichuan and Chongqing flavours. The interior is really beautiful with lots of nice Chinese artworks reflecting the zodiac signs and almost felt like a little art gallery inside with each artwork having their own individual blurbs. I ordered the Dan Dan noodles and also noticed on the wall they had a special which is the Chongqing La Zi Chicken, one of my favourite dishes so I had to try it. Both dishes were amazing with really authentic flavours. Loved the mince sauce in the noodles, it was thick and coated the noodles very nicely. The La Zi chicken was crispy and had a great numbing spicy flavour to it. The owners are very nice and we had a chat about the artworks they had up in the restaurant. This is a hidden gem in Manly and I hope more people will discover this great spot.

Such a gem! The beef noodle soup was absolutely delicious. the broth was rich and spicy but not too heavy, the beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the noodles had that perfect bite. The soft egg and fresh spring onions just tied everything together beautifully. The place has a really nice, cozy vibe and the staff are super friendly. You can tell they really care about what they do. Perfect spot for a comforting meal or a casual lunch with friends. Definitely coming back!

Lovely restaurant, delicious food and great prices! The only improvement I can see is to have the drinks menu on the table as we weren’t sure what soft drinks were available and also some soy sauce/chilli oil on the table would be good too, so you don’t have to wait around and ask for it. Will definitely come back! 🍜
