As a 33 year old I don’t often find myself in emergency at hospital with heart problems, but here I was all week at Northern Beaches Hospital. With all the stories I was hesitant at first, but I must say it was the most caring, best experience I have ever had - service and care I feel exceeded my last stay at the Private Sydney Adventist Hospital. The doctors and nurses were absolutely amazing. Thank you to the Spanish nurse Ona, emergency nurse Anne, cardiologist Michael and Doctor Sarah (Sara?). There were three more amazing nurses also from New Zealand, Australia and the Philippines that unfortunately I forgot their names but everyone was amazing. Thank you Northern Beaches Hospital

I came here under Healthscope and now under NSW Health. Since the handover to NSW Health, the hospital really has improved significantly. It no longer appears to just be running for profit and the cost-cutting measures which under-served the community appear to have changed with a patient centred approach now being firmly embedded. There are waits to be treated but my confidence in this service are enhanced significantly

Thank you Northern Beaches Hospital Staff, for the care you took to look after my father. My dad was taken to Northern Beaches hospital 3 weeks ago, displaying signs of sepsis following a gallbladder infection. Dad was very unwell- his heartrate was very high and blood pressure very low and he had a raging fever. The doctors at Northern Beaches hospital watched dad like a hawk. They quickly escalated his condition to take him to the resuscitation unit, and later, ICU. At every stage, we felt that doctors and nurses were very kind, attentive and diligent. They took the time to discuss treatment options with us, including risks and benefits. When dad was in an acute stage of illness, he always had at least 2 doctors or nurses watching him. We felt like every medical intervention he needed was provided quickly and staff treated him like a person, not just a patient in a bed. Dad subsequently had his gall bladder removed via surgery- staff ensured his pain levels were managed. The surgery appeared to have been performed to a high standard- the wound was left clean and has healed well since. Do not go here! The emergency department runs triage like a Centrelink dole queue. It is inconceivable in 2026 that you are told to take a number and wait for over an hour in a triage queue. A woman passed out in front of us waiting in the triage queue! Any emergency room MUST process and identify life threatening conditions for immediate life saving treatment at the point of arrival.. that is the whole point of triage! My son’s break was misdiagnosed off an Xray and we only found out about it as a doctor at the hospital happened to check their colleagues work days later. We were made to que again for hours and go through the whole system, only to be told they won’t refer the case to QLD for follow up treatment so we have to do the X-rays and everything all over again when we get home. Despite being fully aware that we were flying home no one informed or provided us with medical flight clearance for a break - causing an incredibly stressful situation at the airport. Our doctor later found the break had not been set properly and had moved which could have resuled in permanent disfigurement if not discovered. The staff here do not care about their patients and are grossly incomp

I've just returned home from 6 days in Northern Beaches Hospital. From the time i arrived on a Thursday morning till I left on the following Wednesday evening , I was amazed & thankful for the medical team there. I ended up having a pacemaker inserted under my collarbone due to irregular heart beat. From the team in ED, to the team on the 4th floor where I was, the Cardio team & the team during & after my operation were amazing. Friendly, welcoming, thorough, & understanding, it was wonderful staying there realising I was in good hands. Thank you so much to the Doctors, nurses, & staff. I thank you for the improvement given to me. Long way to go, but so amuch appreciated. Regards, Peter Shore
