I have to say, Jose is an amazing trainer! I've attended two of his Strong classes so far, and before my first class I told him I was completely new to the gym. I asked him to be patient with me because I might not be able to keep up with everyone else. He completely understood and made me feel comfortable from the start. Even though it's a group class, Jose always comes over to give individual feedback and clear instructions. He never minds explaining things again and again until you get them right, which really builds confidence. He is 100% one of the best trainers . Thank you, Jose, for your encouragement and support. I'm truly enjoying your classes and look forward to improving my strength and skills with your guidance!

I just stayed in Sydney for a few days and decided to visit this gym on my last day. The staff asked me when’s my flight, told them the following day, and they were so nice and generous to just let me in and use the gym! They said it’s their freebie coz I decided to workout at their gym on my last day in Sydney. Super friendly people! Don’t normally encounter such kindness nowadays. So, really appreciate! Plus, the gym is complete and located in the CBD. So, it was really convenient.

I’ve been training at One Playground Surry Hills and there are definitely a lot of positives. The staff are always friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The equipment selection is great, the group classes are genuinely amazing, and overall the facilities are well-designed. However, there are a few major issues that really affect the overall experience for me. The biggest issue is the smell in the gym, especially around the training room area on the second floor. At times, it becomes one of the worst-smelling gyms I’ve experienced. It feels like the ventilation upstairs really needs improvement because the odour can get very overwhelming during busy hours. Another issue is the ladies’ bathroom situation. It’s almost always packed, and it honestly doesn’t feel like there are enough facilities for the number of members signed up. During peak times, it becomes inconvenient very quickly. I’ve also unfortunately lost several items at this gym over time, including a cap, iPhone charger, and Sony headphones, none of which I was able to retrieve. While I understand lost items can happen anywhere, the overall crowd and member culture here hasn’t always felt great compared to other gyms I’ve

I just want to say thank you to this gym for truly changing my life in such a meaningful way. Coach Natalie Dowse is not just a coach who corrects my workout form — she supports me mentally and emotionally as well. She takes care of both my inside and outside, and because of her, I’ve learned how to love myself more and become a better version of myself. This place gave me the chance to try new things, feel new emotions, and grow in ways I didn’t expect. This is my first gym, and it will always be the best gym for me. It’s sad that I have to leave because I’m going back to my country, but all the experiences and memories I gained here will stay with me forever. I’ve been a member of One Playground Surry Hills for over three years, and it truly feels like a second home to me. From day one, the staff have always been incredibly friendly, welcoming, and supportive. The overall vibe of the gym is so motivating and positive that it instantly lifts my mood the moment I walk in. Spanning across three floors, the gym has everything I need for my training, and it has genuinely witnessed all of my personal best moments along the way. I always leave the gym feeling happier, more energised, and proud of myself — every single session makes my day better. A huge part of why my experience has been so special is my coach, Jamie Reeson — quite honestly, the best coach on the planet. Jamie is exceptionally kind, endlessly encouraging, and deeply considerate. He is incredibly professional in tailoring training plans that suit my body, my goals, and my pace.
