I used the pre-race mandatory gear check service before UTA100 specifically to avoid unnecessary stress and delays at race check-in. Unfortunately, I was given the wrong certificate and my gear check was never properly logged online. After noticing the issue, I called the store and was assured it would be corrected. Despite this, when I arrived at race registration I was told nothing had been updated and I had to complete the entire gear check process again before being allowed to sign in. This was extremely disappointing given the service is being offered as a way to streamline race preparation. I also spent a significant amount of time travelling to the store to get the check completed early, only for it to end up being a complete waste of time. Mistakes can happen, but failing to resolve the issue after being notified is not acceptable for a service tied to mandatory race requirements.

Was sent a pair of clearly used “new” shoes. When I opened the box the right shoe had grass inside it and a brown stains on the front toe box. Disappointing. No doubt they’d been returned and just reboxed. The shoes themselves are fine and it’s too much hassle to bother rectifying. Just a bit disappointing to be honest. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, a really well-presented shop and a very solid range of shoes and gear. Plenty of other running goodies as well. An asset to the Manly running community.

Great shop, huge variety of brands, models, colours. The staff was super knowledgeable and helpful. Thanks Anna for you help and patience. BEST RUNNING SHOP IN TOWN

Last Saturday, I ripped a hole in the upper of my On Running Strike. I was going to use it at the Sydney Marathon the next day. I searched Sydney for a new pair. Pace Athletic Manly had it but it was a half size bigger than my pair. Here’s the amazing thing: the Supervisor at Pace Athletic Manly understood my predicament and did two things: first, he helped find a pair in my size even if it was at a competitor shop and second, he affirmed my idea that taping the rip was better than running the marathon in a brand new pair. We had a good laugh at my face-to-face encounter with Murphy’s Law. Mr Supervisor I want to thank you for putting your customer and your love for running before a sure sale! You knew I was going to buy the pair but you talked me out of it! If I am ever at Manly Beach again I owe you at least a beer or two! THANK YOU!
