We visited Pastizzi Cafe on a Saturday for lunch to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and it was our first time dining here. We had heard about the generous pasta portions, so my partner and I decided to share a few dishes: garlic bread, pastizzi, and the spaghetti vongole with chilli, garlic oil, and parsley. The spaghetti vongole was the standout—beautifully cooked and very generous with the clams, which made it feel great value for money. The garlic bread was a solid starter and perfect for sharing. Unfortunately, the pastizzi didn’t quite hit the mark for us and were the only dish we didn’t enjoy. Overall, it’s a lively spot with hearty portions, especially if you’re in the mood for a satisfying pasta. Great for group lunches and celebrations, with a few hits and the occasional

First time exploring Newtown King Street today—just walking along and taking in the mix of shops and little food spots. I made it a point to find Pastizzi Cafe, which I’d starred on Google Maps years ago (can’t even remember how I first came across it). I was expecting more sweet pastries (instead of savory) since I didn’t really know what “pastizzi” was 😅. It’s a Maltese pastry. It turned out to be such a pleasant surprise for a first visit. The staff (possibly the owner) kindly offered us a free chicken and mushroom pastizzi to try, which was such a thoughtful gesture. It was really good, but we skipped buying since we already had lunch plans. I did take home a slice of lemon flan, and it ended up being the highlight—so good.

Food: The food is delicious. If you are a fan of pastizzi, then why haven't you visited here already? They are about twice the size of your usual store bought versions and the optional sauce that comes with it (even the small portion) is more than generous for multiple pastizzi. This restaurant also is stands out in providing you with a parmesan cheese shaker to go along with your salt and pepper. An excellent addition! The home made lasagna is super rich in sauce and very cheesy. The ricotta gnocchi also focuses bringing the most out of the few flavors and succeeds in this. The fresh tomato added to the dish works great with the garlic flavor throughout the meal. Service: The staff are kind and attentive, and they tend to your requests quickly. We were not waiting too long for our meals after ordering even during peak time on Saturday, and they staggered our meals well (pastizzi first, mains second) so we were could pace our meals comfortably. Decor: The restaurant is spacious and comfortable. The place lens itself to a calm and relaxed atmosphere, however, the furniture and decorations could use some updating and some rough edges could be smoothed out for more polished presentat

So delicious, so delicious, so delicious! The three of us ordered creamy bacon pasta, pesto penne, and tomato ravioli. Every dish had really rich flavor — our taste buds were completely satisfied. The portions were also very generous, and we all felt very full after the meal. The only thing I would say is that the garlic bread was quite average. Also… the staff with earrings were really handsome! Haha 😄 Definitely recommend this place!
