Hi, we have been loyal customers of this store for a long time. Just last week, we donated rabbit food and water bottles to support the care of the animals. Since we can’t keep pets at home, we occasionally visit so our daughter can enjoy watching the rabbits. Unfortunately, our most recent visit completely changed our opinion. Before my daughter gently petted a rabbit, I asked a staff member for permission, and they clearly said it was okay. Moments later, the blonde woman wearing glasses, who appeared to be the manager, rushed over, pulled the rabbit from my daughter’s hands, and said customers were not allowed to touch the rabbits. When I explained that a staff member had already given us permission, she gave her colleague an angry look. The colleague confirmed this, and she had no choice but to back down. By then, my daughter was so shocked and upset that she remained distressed for hours afterwards. If there is a policy against touching the rabbits, that’s completely understandable. I purchased a 13kg bag of Ivory Coat Sensitive Adult Dog Dry Food from Pet O Alexandria five days ago. Within days of eating this food, my dog suffered a severe allergic reaction, developing terrible skin rashes and even passing blood in the stool. Naturally concerned for my dog's health, I called the store to ask if I could bring the food back and exchange it for a different brand. I was shocked when they told me no. Their justification? I had already disposed of the original plastic packaging because I transfer all of our dog food into a clean, airtight storage container at home. The complete lack of empathy and flexibility from this store is incredibly disappointing. They care more about a piece of plastic packaging than the fact that the food they sold literally made a pet bleed. This policy shows a total lack of care for animal welfare and customer loyalty. I will never shop at any Pet O store again, and I strongly recommend everyone stay away from this business. They do not stand behind the products they sell or care about your pets

I do all my pet shopping here. They have the nicest staff I have ever come across in a store. Always so friendly and smiling and up for a conversation. Product range is extensive and they price match which is helpful. The reason for the low rating is the lack of fans or any type of cooling in the store. Today was 30 degrees and it must have been at least 35 in the store. The poor staff had sweat dripping off them. It was uncomfortable enough going in to buy one thing, I can’t imagine having to spend a whole day in there. Isn’t it against OH&S for the staff and customers? Like honestly how much would it cost them to buy some industrial fans to move the air around? I’ll go back but not on hot days as I don’t want heat stroke.

Very helpful staff who refer me to Birdsville for bird supplies. The cats and dogs supplies have wide product ranges from dried to frozen. I enjoy my time here browsing the products even though I do not own a cat or dog. Worth visiting if you are looking for you pet feeds or accessories :)
