Eating out in Australia ranges from beachside takeaways to hatted dining rooms, and a listing like this one is best judged on freshness, turnover and how consistent the reviews are rather than on decor. If you have dietary needs, most kitchens will adapt a dish if you ask. Licensed venues serve alcohol; BYO places let you bring a bottle for a small corkage fee. Tipping is appreciated but never expected.

We came here for team lunch. Unfortunately, the chicken schnitzel was overcooked, the sweet potato fries were overcooked, and the onion rings were far too salty. On the positive side, the pizza was tasty and enjoyable. Overall, the meal was a bit disappointing because of the quality of the sides and the schnitzel.

The Cricketers Arms has a special place in my professional journey, as it was the spot for my "welcome" lunch when I first joined my company. That first visit left a lasting impression-not just because the team picked up the tab, but because the atmosphere was so welcoming. Since then, I’ve returned with colleagues and it remains a reliable go-to. Here’s why it’s worth a visit: 1) Generous portions: if you come hungry, you won’t be disappointed. The Chicken Parmigiana is a standout: served with a hearty portion of chips and a fresh salad. 2) Outdoor comfort: they’ve clearly thought about the seating. Even when it’s chilly, the overhead heaters in the outdoor area keep things perfectly cozy, so you can enjoy the fresh air regardless of the temperature. 3) The vibe: It’s a great spot for professional gatherings where you can actually focus on the conversation and the food. I didn't even stop to take photos because I was too busy enjoying the company and the meal! Whether you’re celebrating a new start or just grabbing a midweek lunch with the team, this place consistently delivers. *** Downside: expensive! Yes, for me lunch for almost 30 dollars is expensive! Some people migh

Very nice old style pub. Parking is difficult as there is hardly any onsite . There was a musician playing, however it was very loud . The food was tasty however the bar service was disappointing. My friend was served and I waited 5 minutes one of the three bar staff decided to serve me . Overall it was a nice pub but won’t be rushing back .

Stopped by this cute pub in Blacktown and was pleasantly surprised. It’s a historical building that has loads of character — a bit aged in spots, but that only adds to its charm. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, perfect for a casual drink or an easy meal. We both ordered burgers, which were excellent — well-prepared and full of flavour, paired with crispy, golden fries. Classic pub fare done right. Service was friendly and the overall vibe made for a really enjoyable visit. Definitely worth checking out if you’re after a laid-back spot with good food and a bit of local history.
