About SALUMERIE - Sydney CBD

This is the House of Focaccia. Where dough is given time, and people are given space. Where flavour, feeling, and friendship rise together Salumerie was born from a desire to bring the authentic essence of an Italian deli to Australia. Inspired by the traditional โ€œsalumeriaโ€โ€”a cherished gathering place in Italian towns where quality ingredients, warm interactions, and community come togetherโ€”the founder, Donato, envisioned Salumerie as a space that embodies the heart of Italyโ€™s hospitality and craftsmanship. Each store is more than just a place to buy food; itโ€™s a celebration of Italian heritage, a space where the genuine warmth of Italian culture meets a modern design approach.

>1 hour wait for a sandwich that contains 3 ingredients. Mortadella, Cheese and Rocket. Felt sorry for the overworked staff trying to keep up with the pile of orders. Saw people giving up and asking for a refund. Luckily I didnโ€™t have meetings today or Iโ€™d have wasted my entire lunch break waiting for a sandwich. Tips: Management needs to sort out their assembly line, maybe pre-cut the focaccia or have popular menu items ready-to-go.

Stumbled across this hidden gem, tucked away from the crowds. Amazing panini, impeccable service, and a beautiful blend of traditional Italian cuisine met with a touch of modernism. Everything is made with fresh, in-house ingredients, and the carefully curated selection of premium meats is served in perfectly toasted focaccia. 5 stars all round

I have visited Salumerie twice and each time I have been very happy with what received. The first time I tried their wagyu bresaola foccacia. It was massive, could honestly feed 2 people if they want a light lunch. The bread was nice and crunchy, the meat added saltiness to the whole sandwich and I loved the crunch from the walnuts. I just wish they added more of the walnuts and also a bit more of the balsamic. Also, the sundried tomatos in it were in really big chewy chunks so it was a bit annoying to eat, I wish it was cut smaller. The value was great for $24 bucks. The second time I tried their valtellina salad which has pretty much the same ingredients as the wagyu breasola sandwich and it was an overall decent salad. I took takeaway but there are seating options here - I did notice that the cafe was connected to an office elevator so there's a lot of foot traffic.

A slice of Mama Mia in the heart of the CBD ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น Stepping into Salumerie feels like traveling back in time. Between the hanging meats, the tiles, and the smell of fresh focaccia, youโ€™d forget youโ€™re in the middle of Sydney. The Order: ๐Ÿฅ“ Mortadella โ€“ Simple, classic, and perfectly executed. ๐Ÿž Lick Your Focaccia โ€“ Bold flavors on some of the best bread in the city. The Verdict: The Mortadella sandwich is a masterclass in simplicity - thinly shaved, high-quality meat that just melts. But the Lick Your Focaccia? Thatโ€™s the real showstopper. The bread is oily, salty, and has that perfect crunch-to-fluff ratio that holds up to the bold fillings. If youโ€™re looking for a lunch spot that feels worlds away from the office, this is the one.

First, very stylish antique store. They sold me a drink online that is not available when I arrived. The cashier was not so interested in helping by giving us vague responses. Did not give me the change when they replace it with a cheaper drink. The sandwiches themselves are very delicious albeit served too cold. I recommend the DIY version and go nuts with their selection of goodies!
