(4.5 stars) There was a storm chasing us as we rolled into South Curl Curl rock pool. With its beautiful golden sand backdrop, and part natural wall, it would look even more appealing on a sunny day. It turns 99 this year, and adds a few bits to the standard 50 metre Olympic pool. You enter through a wading pool of varying depths, separated from the big pool by an outcrop of sandstone that echoes the sandstone cliffs that the pool shelters under. We came just on high tide, and waves were breaking over some of the edges, but not too violently. That’s because a metre or two out from its eastern edge, there’s another, lower wall that stands in front of it, to take the force of the blow. Protection. The weekday crowd were friendly and unpretentious, mostly seniors and young mums, not particularly culturally diverse but that’s the northern beaches. Perhaps the weekends are different. It has outdoor and indoor showers and toilets and change facilities, free entry and we even got a free street park directly across the road from the paid parking spaces. There’s a great cliff path that gives you a drone-like view down onto the pool as you can see from my photos.

50 metre pool with variable depth, with shallow toddlers area, and ramp access. There are also showers, toilets and car parking near by as well as nice cafe on the beach. Water was clean and refreshing on a hot day. You can check cleaning schedule on northern beaches website ( it looks like it happens usually on Sundays)

Located on Carrington Parade, Curl Curl, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 This is a fantastic little pool to come to for a quick (or long) swim 🏊. It’s popular with the locals and families. There’s plenty of parking 🅿️ nearby and change rooms at the South Curl Curl Life Saving Club nearby. There’s a level path down to the beach 🏖️ next to the rock pool and also to the Rock Pool. This makes it wheelchair 🦼 accessible. There’s a cafe at the Life Saving Club and if you wanted to, you could walk (or drive to the nearby Harbord Diggers Club for something to eat. There’s a wonderful walking path that leads from the nearby car 🚗 park that takes you around the bottom of the cliffs and the view is stunning 🤩. This is a very family friendly rock pool and I would not hesitate to recommend it. Thumbs Up!!! 👍👍👍

Family discovered this gem on boxing day. Accessibility is fantastic. A level path with ramps to the sand and down into the rock pool, makes it easy to access. The rock pool is shallow for the little ones and leads into a deeper pool for the older ones. Toilets are basic but clean, there's a few steps up into the bathroom with a handrail. Paid Parking (between 7am & 7pm) is right next to the path. Whether you like the surf or calmer rock pool water, there's plenty to enjoy and the view does not disappoint. Highly recommend a visit.
