I grew up going with my mum & sister to the church from the 70's with Pater Xristos he christened 2 of my children & my granddaughters were christened at the same church. Had both parents funerals there as well. Hearing what some people are saying is sad , l havent been awhile at church due to illness but wanted to get my home blessed now lm wondering if l should ask eles where

My family and I attended mass on Sunday for a 40day mass for a family member who passed. This was the 1st time I had attended a mass at this church. I was absolutely disappointed in the way we had been treated. We went to receive the Eucharist, after waiting in the line we get to the alter and the priest had refused us from receiving the Eucharist because we weren't from the church. I'm sorry but no one has the right to deny anyone from receiving our Lord Jesus Christ! It does not matter whether you are Maronite, catholic, Orthodox ,etc. If you have been baptised and wanting to receive our Lord then no one has the right to deny that! Our Lord opened his arms to all his people no matter if you were sick, different nationality or religion. What happens if I was weak in my faith or I was going through hard times and needed to receive our Lord ! This is why there is division within our churches! I don't care if you are Catholic, Maronite, Orthodox, Roman catholic! You all need to get off your high horse and unite as one ! We all believe in the same God and follow the same teachings our Lord Jesus taught us! The house of God is for all his people ! It is not a cult where only your p

As I’ve been growing older, I have been revisiting my faith and also trying to grow stronger in my faith Visiting this Church with my Mother also is a special experience as Mums life experiences arriving, growing her family here in Sydney and Melbourne and Mums personal religious experience with the Church also were and will always be special

ABSOLUTE DISGRACE TO THE ORTHODOX FAITH!! From the treatment of first timers. To the treatment of regular patrons. To the simple fact that their current priest has told me how wonderful I am because even he has never read the bible. *Eye Roll* Please don’t let this church detour you from your faith - there are great examples of orthodox priests and churches i.e. Patre Nectarios at Newtown’s Constantine & Helen’s Orthodox Church. Who is knowledgeable, highly charitable with the locals of Newtown, and operates an entire mission out of his own pocket. The people he has worked with over the years is a representation of him also! This godly man deserves the title of a saint!! As opposed to priests like at Liverpool who do the absolute bare minimum and act like there constantly doing you a favour by just being in your presence 🙄… Newtown’s church will rejuvenate your soul. Whilst Liverpool’s church will make you feel like you need to go directly to another church right after visiting it… to cleanse yourself from all the ungodliness… *** Since Patre Christo has not been there... My family grew up living on the church grounds, so I am more aware than the average person of what

I had been trying to seek help during Feb, Mar, Apr 2022. Fr Astarios is too busy to return calls. I’ve needed support during palliative care of my mum-not available- then after passing- not available- then pre and post funeral- not available. I’ve given up and will go elsewhere. Please don’t blame the Easter period. This was the same in February.

I attended an Authentic Greek Service here for a beautiful young man, who lost his life at just 21years. His family are my friends so it was a very sad occasion. The interior of this beautiful Church is stunning, with huge paintings on the walls showing the Greek history and the Service was presented by three Priests, all singing their lines in a type of call and answer. Even though l don't speak Greek, it was melodic and interesting. It was also an education for me to witness how everyone viewed the open casket and said their goodbyes. The Church has a large reception area just a few meters away where we were greeted with a Greek coffee.. and inside there were huge round tables with crisp white tablecloths and about a dozen chairs at each. Out the front of these was a huge smorgasbord of delicious Authentic Greek food. They had a projector showing photos of my friend and his family, and a microphone was passed around for those who had a special story, or memories. It was so touching to see everyone, of all ages, and races coming together to witness this very Special sendoff for a very Special young man called too soon. A very majestic place.
