From the outset, the project was handled with a level of care, planning and professionalism that gave us great confidence. Sean was always clear about the budget, the construction process and what was happening on site. Communication was excellent throughout, and we always felt informed and involved without ever feeling overwhelmed by the process. The finished home has exceeded our expectations. Sean and the Sustainable Design and Construct team completed a major renovation and rear extension to our home in Wahroonga, and we could not be happier with the result. This was a substantial project on a large residence, including new living areas, a luxury kitchen, bathrooms and a complete reworking of the rear of the house to connect seamlessly with the pool and landscaped gardens. The finished result feels completely integrated with the original home and has transformed the way we live in it. Sean was exceptional throughout the entire process. He is extremely efficient, organised, transparent and very easy to deal with. He managed the budget carefully, kept us informed at every stage and was always upfront about costs, timing and what was happening on site. What impressed us most was how smoothly everything ran. In 2024 in only 20 weeks, Sean Coddington and his team at Sustainable Design and Construct built our modular home on a steep block in the Northern Beaches. When I reflect on the process of this build, four words come to mind: integrity, excellence, efficiency, and care. Integrity Through every step of the modular design, Sean worked with our architect and engineers to minimise the costs. He planned every aspect of the build on a spreadsheet which only varied for weather events. Once building started, he sent me daily progress updates. He was transparent in all matters: costs, timing, building materials, selection of trades, being available for site meetings. Excellence Sean is continually expanding his knowledge of materials and building processes. His understanding of modular construction and the best materials for this kind of construction is exceptional. We did not use luxurious finishes, but the precision of the carpentry, the concrete – everything – is outstanding to everyone who visits our home. Everything works properly. Sustainable Design and Construct (SDC) is a high quality building company that looks to provide high value service to their clients. They are very experienced, have a strong passion, and balance traditional building methods with new technology. Their name is very much embedded in their values. The company looks to encompass intelligent environmental design and work this through all the way through the construction process. We collaborated with SDC on a house for a client in Belrose and worked in the true spirit of a 'Design and Construction process'. This ultimately works best for the client having both a builder and architect working closely together at the start and through the project construction. The completion and relationships formed during the project are a testament to the client focused values of SDC. We would highly recommend SDC as a competent builder who looks to build good value, high quality buildings with a people focused process.
