Eating out in Australia ranges from beachside takeaways to hatted dining rooms, and a listing like this one is best judged on freshness, turnover and how consistent the reviews are rather than on decor. If you have dietary needs, most kitchens will adapt a dish if you ask. Licensed venues serve alcohol; BYO places let you bring a bottle for a small corkage fee. Tipping is appreciated but never expected.

Specialising in seafood boils - food came out promptly, solid flavours, and reminds me of kickin inn. Cajun flavour, whole shebang was the best flavour, had creamy garlic which was ok. Suitable for all groups and had a whole bday theme as well - with a sash for the birthday boy! So good! Fried shrimp was delicious as well as their clam chowder! Ran out of bibs when we were there but they had gloves at least!

It was the last night of their $50pp AYCE special so their walk-in queue was very long. Since we went for a birthday dinner, we booked a table and ordered ala carte. In saying that even with drinks we paid $55pp so definitely good value for money. We ordered two combos, fried prawns, fried soft shell crab and bread, which was perfect for the 5 of us. The seafood was fresh and the Cajun spice (mild) still had a nice kick without being unpleasant. Staff were nice. It was for a birthday and we brought our own cake as well. Would recommend this place.

The service was good waiters helped and guided us. Food needs adjustment the seasoning not that tasty salty and cream garlic not suitable with the seafood or might be becausesaucewas too thick. This was a $50 open for different choices with a $5 drink. Liked the offer and seafood options were mixed. Challenge is to finish all food especially fries is tough, however was managed haha. You can see here in the videos and photos π only two managed to finish two bags + sidesπ«£ we have beaten a table of 6

The Boiling Crab is an informal, group friendly restaurant specializing in "seafood boils" (seafood boiled in sauce), known for their delicious prawns/shrimp with chorizo sausage. I was ultimately defeated by the fried shrimp and we may have ordered more than we could finish. The crab salad was freshly made although I ended up with a tiny bit of shell in my last mouthful. Staff were friendly and the food was presented soon after placing our order. This is a casual dining location with almost a sports-bar type of atmosphere. The Boiling Crab is easily located in the Haymarket district and has something of a cult following from local patrons. We made an effort to visit the city solely to try out their menu - after seeing their Instagram videos posted by other diners. Unfortunately, the one item we both specifically wanted to try was unavailable when we were seated - as they had run out. This was the Alaskan Crab Legs (my wife is Canadian and selected this restaurant specifically for this reason). Gloves and napkins are supplied upon arrival, which makes the process of seafood disassembly an easy chore. We were also celebrating a birthday and the staff kindly held a colorful light
