Checked out The Nine in Bondi Beach recently. The food is really good and definitely hits the spot, but the highlight has to be the coffee. They serve it with this super cute koala right on top, which just makes the whole experience so much more fun. The cafe has a great vibe and it is a straightforward place to grab a nice meal and a solid brew. Definitely worth checking out if you are wandering around Bondi.

Honestly, this place really surprised me in the best way. The menu has so many good options, and every dish we ordered tasted fresh, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. The portion sizes were also generous for the price, which made the experience feel even more worth it. Their drinks were a highlight too, especially the smoky latte, which was unique and surprisingly smooth. You can tell the staff put genuine care into both the food and the overall experience. The atmosphere felt warm, cosy, and welcoming, making it the kind of cafΓ© you’d happily sit in for hours. Definitely one of those spots I’d love to come back to again.

We absolutely loved our weekend brunch here. Perfectly cooked eggs, tasty toast, and yes, there is gluten-free bread offered, freshly made avo (avocado) smash the flat white was perfect, as with the long black coffees. The avocado toast has a North African spice blend sprinkled on top, which includes cumin and sesame. Just FYI. The feta cheese that comes on the toast is also spiced with cumin and thyme. We were happy to find a table outside, and the staff made sure that we had everything that we needed, from water to random condiments. A hopping place at the weekend.

This was our second visit to The Nine. After our first visit, we left a 4-star review despite issues with dirty cutlery, hoping it was an isolated incident. Unfortunately, our second experience this weekend was worse. One of the meals we ordered was a burger. While bringing it to the table, the server failed to hold it properly and smeared the burger across his shirt. We immediately asked for a replacement. About two minutes later, the same burger appeared back at the table, simply tidied up. When I asked whether it was the same burger, the server responded, β€œOh, you want a new one?” We confirmed that we did. A few minutes later, another burger arrived, however we strongly suspected that only the bun had been replaced while the original meat patty was reused. One side of the patty was noticeably overcooked and shrunk, as if it had been reheated. What disappointed us most was not the mistake itself, but how it was handled. The experience left us feeling that customer care and food quality were not the priority. Unfortunately, we do not feel comfortable returning again.

Service was friendly, coffee was strong and nice but the chai was pretty flavourless. Eggs benedict were ok the sauce was pretty good but eggs had no flavour. Turkish eggs were nicely done. Overall ok experience just a couple of things to improve.
