Really enjoyed visiting The Rocks Discovery Museum! It’s a small museum, but it’s packed with interesting stories about the history of Sydney and how The Rocks area developed over the years. The exhibits are well presented and easy to follow, making it a great stop even if you’re not usually a museum person. I especially liked learning about the early settlers, local heritage, and the transformation of the neighborhood through different periods of history. Best of all, admission is free, making it a worthwhile addition to any visit to The Rocks. The Rocks Discovery Museum, hidden gem of the Sydney Harbour! It’s free and tells the whole story of how Sydney began. It’s like a "starter kit" for understanding Australia’s convict past and the 11 UNESCO Heritage sites like Port Arthur, Tasmania. Plus, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) is just a short walk away. Pro tip: Go on a weekend so you can hit up The Rocks Markets at the same time!

This tiny place is a treasure trove. It has many photos, memorabilias, books, and stories to tell about The Rocks. Staff are very friendly, too. I just found a happy place. Entrance is free! I am definitely coming back.

A small but well-maintained museum where you can learn about the early days of Australia’s colonization. Admission is free.

Very interesting and a must to visit if you want to understand Sydney history. I would advise to do the museum first before wondering around the area so there is a better understanding of some of the historical buildings. The museum is free of charge and not very big.
