We spent a decent amount of time and money at this place. Staff member rushed us out of the pool room and took our drinks with a sip out of it asking if we were “finished” after it was already taken. A bit of a joke if you ask me. A $14 drink cleary not finished at taken with zero care.

I really want to give James N a shout out. He looked after us all night and made sure we were looked after. I definitely think he should be running the upstairs bar. Lola was also super helpful

My oh my the townie! You had the most fantastic, mouth watering and scrumptious steak sandwich in your midst, a dish that would make the gods sing (me) and bring joyous tears to the receiver! It is to my profound astonishment and heartbreak to notice that it is off the menu! While I may not be a regular customer, the taste and intensity of that steak sandwich has been etched into each and every taste bud within my mouth! Since my first encounter with said steak sandwich, I have been leading a fantastic life, knowing that every time I felt down or discouraged, the townie steak sandwich always believed in me, especially in times where I, myself did not. You can imagine the betrayal when I found out its lack of presence on your bill of fare! To call it a mere sandwich does not serve justice, but rather acts as a cruel understatement for a culinary masterpiece that once anchored my very existence. In short, I hope you reconsider your decision, as I shall return with an open heart, clinging to the hope that this slice of perfection makes a triumphant return to the throne for the next time I venture out to your treasured townie!

I have never been treated so badly by the so called "duty management" at this venue. I have Autism, ADHD, Neurofibromatosis, scoliosis, degenerative arthritis, severe anxiety, severe stress, chronic pain. I have no friends. My only social life was going to the members draw which I'd done almost every Monday and Friday for years. I just came here for my birthday with my dad last Monday, I've not seen him for 6 years. I come here every Monday and Friday afternoon for the members draw. I come in during the day if I'm out and about. I have been a valued member of The Townie for many years. I am mixed race a person of colour who lives with multiple disabilities and health conditions. Today I ordered 1 beer, 1 steak salad and chips and 1 more beer. I was told by the "duty manager" who I've never seen before that I was cut off at 6.33pm (he need to be fired immediately). I did not stumble. I did not have any slurred speech, I was fully coherent, I was not falling asleep. I did not do anything wrong at all. I explained that I have multiple disabilities and health conditions, I told him exactly what I had consumed that afternoon, he accused being on intoxicating medication or drugs or

The bartender of the night (Jade) was extremely lovely and very welcoming, a fantastic bartender with impeccable reviews and suggestions, fantastic conversation and provided service as yet unbeknownst to any in the hospitality industry thus far. I feel bad leaving five stars as it is simply not as many as she deserves. Plus her piercings are cool. Will absolutely be returning for as long as she is working or until I die, whichever comes first.
