BEST GREEK TAVERNA IN SYDNEY ❤️ We chose Tsipouro to host our Kefalonian Island Association lunch - a private function with 58 people - The hospitality was warm and nostalgic of dining in Greece. The service was structured and seamless and the staff responsive. The food was beautiful - fresh, hot, flavoursome and plentiful. We ordered the $65 set menu which worked superbly for our group - we added coffees and Loukoumathes (Greek honey balls) which were beautiful! The atmosphere was magical, however we did have a live band employed for our function.

Friendly service when we arrived for lunch. The last time we got here, we were turned back, so booking beforehand is recommended. There is a mobile number on their website so it makes it easy and not a hassle. The food was delicious, in particular the Lamb Souvlaki Plate and the Tyrokafteri (Spicy Cheese Dip). I also enjoyed the Galaktoboureko. The decor of the restaurant gave a home style feel and Greek aesthetic. I would definitely visit again.

An update from our original review of a few months ago... We have returned a few times when stocking up on Greek and European food delights in Earlwood. The original review stands, and the more we eat there the more we enjoy it. It is the most authentic Greek restaurant that we have found in Sydney, with the authenticity including the very friendly owners, the lovely food, decor and Greek clientele! I would recommend booking however. "We have been travelling to Earlwood (from Pyrmont) for several years to shop at the well known Greek deli on Homer Street and the next door cake shop. This has usually been during the week, and we have had no thought for lunch. As a background, I lived in Greece for few years, and my wife is Romanian, so Balkans food is de rigour. However today (Saturday) we decided to find a place for lunch, and Tsipouro came up on the search. And what a revelation. Great food, ambience and people (and a Greek clientele). It took me back to a typical taverna in Greece - simple, well cooked food in a lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately, as I was driving, I could not take advantage of the quality tsipouro, or the retsina on offer! And, I should have tried the horta. Y

I recently visited this Greek restaurant with friends and had an absolutely wonderful time. The food was delicious and authentically prepared, with great vegan options that were just as flavourful as everything else on the menu. What really stood out was the warm, personal hospitality it felt like being welcomed into a family home. The service was genuine, attentive, and made the whole experience memorable. A truly authentic Greek dining experience that I’ll remember for a long time. Highly recommended! Thanks John, owner and the Lady.
