The absolute worst university on earth! I was tricked with a mere lie to do a master degree with a promise to get into my desired degree afterwards. I spent 3 years of my life and so much money until I graduated. Then I was denied the degree I wanted and was told that the person who told me that "if someone actually told me like they said" was mistaken. No apology, no compensation, the master I finished does not get me into any job and they cancelled it the year after. If you have to study here for any reason, have any information given to you in writing and do not believe any BS they say.

I recently completed my Graduate Diploma at the UTS and it was a great experience. The course was practical and well-structured. I especially valued the real-life case studies and supportive lecturers. A very worthwhile experience that helped me grow professionally :)

Universities seem to have completely lost sight of their students, the very people they’re meant to support. A young woman makes the huge, life-changing decision to move away from home, relocate to the city, rent her first apartment, and begin her university journey.. alone. After all that, this university couldn’t even confirm her core subject. After repeated chasing, she was finally told just 12 hours before classes began that the core subject she was excited and enrolled for was full. Instead, she was pushed into a far less appealing alternative alongside returning students from previous years. So her “first day” isn’t a fresh start at all… it was walking into established groups, feeling isolated, and already behind. That’s not just poor administration, it’s a deeply discouraging way to begin what should be one of the most exciting chapters of a young person’s life. Universities talk a lot about student experience and wellbeing — but moments like this show the reality doesn’t match the message. Shame on you. That is not how a student’s university journey should begin.

I’m genuinely grateful to be studying at UTS as a Thai student who now has the opportunity to live and study in Australia. UTS truly values diversity and non-traditional pathways. I didn’t come through a standard ATAR route, but I’ve felt welcomed, supported, and respected for my background and potential. The university looks beyond rigid boxes and genuinely believes that education should be accessible to people from different life paths. The administrative and student support teams work incredibly hard behind the scenes, and it really shows. UTS feels modern, inclusive, and human - a place that opens doors rather than closes them. I’m very thankful for this opportunity and proud to be part of the UTS community.

The University of Technology has modern facilities and sufficient student support. Many lounge rooms and tea rooms can be found in the faculty buildings. The Ultimo campus is within walking distance of the Central train station and plenty of shopping and dining options. It's also a short bus ride to the University of Sydney campus. My empirical experience is that the courses of UTS are well and practically designed.
