Get the pickle and cheese picelle with a dark chocolate and sea salt cookie. For something more substantial, the szechuan lamb flatbread is amazing! The vegemite scroll is also to die for. Can't miss!

It really is the highest quality bread in the Surry Hills area. In addition, I find the croissants and other pastries to be of a good quality. Probably better than good. The condition of the bakery itself is somewhat unimpressive. The staff are attentive and diligent, but not friendly. However, the quality of the product is clearly superior to their competitors, including a prominent competitor on Bourke Street. The atmosphere leaves something to be desired: the chairs are uncomfortable, the seating is limited. If the wind is blowing cold, one must find an alternative place to enjoy one's baked treat. On the whole, there is little better way to spend a cold Sunday morning than at this small establishment.

I ordered a tea, a croissant, and a pain au chocolat this morning. I had heard that this place was well known for its pastries, so I came in expecting warm, crispy, buttery croissants. The shop opened at 7:30am, and I ordered around 7:50am. Unfortunately, the pastries were all cold and soggy, almost as if they had been made the day before. I’m not sure if this is the normal standard here or if selling day old pastries is part of the usual process, but it was honestly disappointing. I couldn’t even finish the croissant and ended up throwing it away.

I’ve loved everything I’ve eaten here -I appreciate how they use nuts in their vegetarian dishes. Macadamia, Honey and Thyme Twice-baked croissant is really good. The Aleppo pepper & Asiago cheese croissant was brilliant.

The focaccia was super oily and a bit chewy, but pretty good otherwise. The pie was stuck to the pie dish and has so many layers of pastry it was sorta difficult to eat. The food looks like it’s designed to look great for Instagram, but that reality is that it’s just good, not great.
