I’ve been a loyal customer of Berkelo Manly & Brookvale for the past three years, and during that time their bread was honestly the best I’ve ever had — organic, beautifully made, and full of character. It used to be a bakery where you could genuinely taste the craftsmanship and care in every loaf. However, over the past months I’ve noticed a significant change in quality, especially when it comes to their baked bread. The flavour, texture, and overall feel simply aren’t what they used to be. Many of the original products that made Berkelo special are no longer available, and the range feels much more limited than before. Another thing that concerns me is that the Brookvale location has closed, which only adds to the impression that something is going on with the business. I’m sharing this review not out of frustration, but out of sadness. Berkelo used to be exceptional — a real standout bakery — and I truly hope they find their way back to the quality and variety that made so many of us loyal customers for years. Daniel

Instead of the traditional hot cross bun, I indulged in a croissant. This croissant was incredibly flaky, crispy, and buttery. Paired with the delicious jam, it surpassed any plain croissant I’ve ever had, even though I typically prefer them without heating. It was truly the best I’ve tasted so far. Coffee complemented everything. It was such a great day. The shop is small and the offering is a bit bit tight not as many option as you would expect, but whatever they have on offer is excellent

Caught up with a friend for breakky and the place is nice to sit for a while. Great vibe overall and very good coffee. The avo toast I got was good but the bread was too crusty/maybe stale, was hard to get through even with the steak knife I was given. The eggs and kimchi were delicious though. Great variety and good service.

Super nice coffee shop with a lovely terrace to sit and sip your coffee. Their breads are delicious. I am so glad they opened a bigger shop than before.

My favourite bakery in Manly. Staff have always been friendly right from the beginning when they opened in the pandemic. Very good coffee, amazing olive bread, pie's and I love the ham and brie baguette. Also there is a whole lot of fresh produce you can purchase such as eggs, milk and fresh pesto.
