The girl who sold me my little pony cards a the customer service desk needs a raise she was so kind, informative and it was the best experience Ive had at Kmart. She sold them to me at 3:37 5 July. Thanks for making my day brighter!

I had a very disappointing experience at BIG W Hurstville today (2nd July 2026) (around 10:30 am). I went to the customer service desk to exchange a pair of shoes for my young son. I have been shopping at this store for a long time and have spent a lot of money here over the years, so I expected at least a basic level of customer service. The older lady at the customer service counter was extremely rude and unhelpful. She immediately asked for the receipt. I explained that I have a Rewards account and thought the purchase might be found through it, so I politely asked for her assistance. Instead of trying to help or even explaining the process, she simply ignored my request. What made the experience even more upsetting was the way she looked at my wife, who wears a hijab. The expressions and attitude she showed made us feel unwelcome and judged, as if we didn't belong there. I cannot say for certain what her intentions were, but the interaction left us feeling that we were being treated differently because of our appearance. I was shopping at this store and was looking for a specific item that I couldn’t find anywhere in the store. Just as I was about to give up, Bailey stepped in and offered his help. His customer service was exceptional friendly, attentive, and he really went above and beyond to assist me. It made a big difference to my shopping experience. Popped into Big W Hurstville to buy a ball and was immediately hit with strict anti-fun policies. There’s literally a sign telling customers not to bounce the balls… in the ball section. Totally understand not wanting chaos in store — but maybe sell pictures of balls instead? 5 stars for stock levels. 1 star for crushing childhood dreams. ⭐⚽

I would like to express my deepest and most heartfelt thank you to the team at Big W Hurstville, with special mention to Kiara and her manager Kay, for the incredible care and kindness you showed me on 13 December 2025. I fainted while shopping and was 5½ months pregnant, and from the very first moment, Kiara and Kay acted quickly, calmly, and with such genuine compassion. They ensured I was safe, supported, and comfortable, and their reassurance during a very frightening moment meant more to me than words can express. In a situation where I felt vulnerable and scared, their professionalism, empathy, and attentiveness truly stood out. I will never forget how well I was looked after, and I am so grateful for their care — not just for me, but for my baby as well. Please pass on my sincere thanks to Kiara, Kay, and the entire team.
