If you come from the airport and planning to go to North Sydney, head to platform 16 for Northern Line (T9) to North Sydney, or platform 26 for Metro to Victoria Cross. By the way, train station look old, whereas the interior design of metro platforms looks magnificent.

Sydney Central Station has a lively and busy atmosphere with a constant flow of people. The service experience is good, with supportive staff available to assist when needed. The station is generally clean and well-maintained, including the toilet facilities. Overall, it is a well-managed and convenient transport hub with a positive environment.

Tip: When getting an Opal card, be sure you note the daily and weekly cap + the top-up amount at the Information booth. I ended up overspending by $5 during my visit to Sydney. The station is a terrific hub, and I used it daily for rides around Sydney as well as traveling two hours away to the Blue Mountains. The trains and light rail were always clean and convenient. They were essential for visiting Sydney without a car.

Took regional train overnight express from central station, very convenient, easy to navigate, lots of staff to ask questions for if you are lost. Clean toilets and lifts available. Very busy and can easily get lost but you’ll find staff on every corner. Just need to ask for phone charging station
