For a place to eat or drink, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open now, is it busy at peak hours, and does the menu suit the group you are bringing. Australian cafes tend to open early and close mid-afternoon, while restaurants and pubs run lunch and dinner services with a quiet spell in between, so an off-peak visit is worth a quick call. Card and tap-to-pay are accepted almost everywhere; some venues add a surcharge on weekends and public holidays.

Opening hours are published for 2 days a week. On most of those days it is open 10 am–3 pm. Hours in Australia do change around public holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is 0410 416 848. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a mobile. Its website is costisfishandchips.com.au, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Sydney is in New South Wales, on Australia's east coast, where summers are warm and humid, winters are mild and businesses keep to standard hours year-round with the usual public-holiday changes. Getting around Sydney is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy centres, and most suburban shops have their own car park. Public transport and ride-share apps such as Uber and DiDi operate across New South Wales's larger cities.

i’ve ordered the grilled fish of the day a few times now and it’s really good! maybe a bit salty so i ask for less salt on the chips. will try the battered fish next time too.

Huge portion and tastes great for just $14.90. You can also swap the brown rice for chips if you prefer.

This is as good as it gets in terms of fish and chips and grill options. The service is quick, and think the shop don't leave the fried food on the counter too long to keep the crisp of the fried fish and chips. I think it is a great choice if you are at Darling Quarter Food court. It is a food court so everything is in a takeaway box as expected. But, still I think the quality is good for the price.

Friendly staff, quick transaction and delicious food. The food was warm even though it wasn’t cooked to order. The $19 (rounded up) grilled barramundi, crispy chips and salad is a great deal. The fresh seasoning on the lemon and herb fish is tasty. Highly recommend! Toilets are nearby, 30 meters away from the store and are decently clean.

This fish and chips place deserves 10 stars. Shop is located in Quey Quarter plaza and is on the basement. First of all they only have sea products (meaning no pork, which can put me off). I tried cocktail box (6 small pieces of fish), chips. Potato scallop and prawn skewers. These were all excellent. Chips were being fried so I asked them to make it crispy, and Wallah it was crispy to the right crispiness. Patato scallop is basically aaloo pakora. Cocktail box is very generous in amount and I couldn't finish it fully despite this being finger licking tasty, I would say it would be enough for 2. It has a lot of healthy salad options but I couldn't try any. Atmosphere is excellent. The place even has 2 free table tennis tables right next to the shop. Since most of their clientale are office workers, they shut I think at 3 or 4pm
