I discovered Dresden through online marketing and I’m genuinely thrilled with my purchase. Buying glasses online can feel like a bit of a gamble, but that definitely wasn’t the case here. I’ve worn prescription glasses for years, and because I need thinner lenses, the cost has always added up quickly. I’d usually avoid extras like photochromatic lenses for that reason. I also found myself hanging onto old pairs for outdoor activities because I didn’t want to risk damaging expensive glasses. Dresden has completely changed that for me. Their affordability means I can finally wear an up-to-date prescription with photochromatic lenses for everything I do, without worrying about the cost. It’s such a game changer. I can look after my eyes in this NZ sun. The colour selection is incredible too: fun, vibrant options that are usually hard to find. And despite being an international order to NZ, shipping was fast. I also really appreciated that they double-checked my prescription after I submitted it online. Some might be irritated by that but I'd prefer that they get it right with eye wear. Highly recommend.

After being devastated that the arm link on my multi focal transition lense glasses had broken, I went to Dresden’s Newton shop and had the frame replaced under the 10 year warranty. Wonderful. The service was excellent. (I purchased my glasses 8 years ago.) This is a significant and much needed point of difference from other optometrist retailers.

Like most people I rarely bother to write a positive review but...... Staff are helpful and not at all pushy. Glasses were ready in 1 week when I was expecting 3 weeks (for multifocals). The lenses and frames are light and fit well. I've never had glasses that fit so well, but maybe that says more about the shape of my head :-). Overall an unbelievably positive experience and I'm actually kicking myself I wasted so much money at larger companies with poorer products and service.

I recently bought a pair of reading glasses and I was so impressed that I came back for another pair and a pair of sunglasses. They are light, no fuss, have no flimsy metal hinge, look great and you have a lot of choice for funky combinations of arms and frame colours. Most of all, they are super affordable. 5 stars for reading glasses. As a brief note, I would not recommend their designs for sunglasses. The designs are pretty flat across your face and are great for glasses, but I found out why sunglasses are usually more curved. Sun light bouncing in from the sides causes a lot of glare off the inside of the lens. Although, the price is still amazing. 3 stars for sunglasses. Online advertising, and even the box they sell the glasses in, mention that you get a free pair of arms with each set of glasses. On both occasions these were not offered. When I questioned this I was told that this was not the case and extra arms would cost $30 (for a $37.50 pair of glasses). I was disappointed, as extra arms would give you even more funky colour combinations to play with, so I pushed further and was told there *were* free arms but they were only in black and a large size. When I said that’
