i’m sure it’s an amazing facility, the positive reviews reflect this and was the reason i wanted to move my mum there, so she could be closer to us and be back in her area. this review is on the lack of correspondence. we sent continuous enquiries via their website, direct emails to the home and made many phone calls with our name and number left with a promise to be called back- we heard nothing back in the 5 months of trying we even had estia health warrawee office try to make contact on our behalf - as my mother was a current resident there. that didn’t even help. we finally heard back from estia willoughby - 2 weeks after my mother had passed away. i know aged care places are extremely rare and limited, however some sort of acknowledgment of people’s enquiries would have been appreciated in what is an already horrible time for all involved.

I have relatives that reside at Estia. We have been welcomed, well cared for and meals are nutritious. All staff are friendly and easy to approach and communicate with if you have any questions or issues. They keep me well informed when needed. The chef provides a variety of freshly made meals. The variety of activities they can join in is amazing. Bus trips, high tea, sing a longs, bingo and many more. Overall our experience has made the transition into full time care very comfortable and easy.

My Dad has been a resident at Estia Health Willoughby for around nine months. The facility is well maintained, with clean and comfortable rooms. The real strength is the staff, who are consistently warm and attentive. They genuinely care about the residents’ wellbeing. There’s a good range of meal options and the team will always make sure my Dad gets food that he likes. They also have access to a wide range of books from Willoughby Library. The team regularly go the extra mile by organising internal events and excursions, which I can see contribute positively to the residents’ quality of life.

In 2018, when my father needed residential aged care, I made an extensive list of nursing homes across Sydney that met my criteria, and it came to 55. After visiting and comparing them, I chose Estia Willoughby. My mother moved in during 2021, and over the years the team provided outstanding care to both of them. The staff were consistently warm, respectful and attentive—not just clinically competent, but genuinely caring. As a family member, that matters enormously: it took pressure off my shoulders and eased the emotional burden that so many families carry when they can’t provide full-time care themselves. My father passed away in 2022, and my mother passed away the day after Australia Day this year—an end of an era for our family. Looking back, I feel real gratitude that they were able to spend their final years supported by a team many of whom I came to know and trust. Thank you.

What a wonderful, caring and attentive staff at Estia Aged Care Willoughby. My mother has been well looked after these past 7 years and I have had the priviledge of getting to know some of her dedicated carers. How lucky my family is.

I never thought we would need a nursing home for Dad, as we were committed to caring for him at home. But nearly four years on with his advanced Alzheimer’s, managing him became too much. Four different people we knew highly recommended Estia Willoughby, and now we know why, and can join them! Dad got a place there about three months ago and we couldn’t be more grateful, more happy, and more pleased with Estia Willoughby. The staff are amazing - warm, friendly and caring. The lifestyle program provides a wonderful range of activities. And the home is clean and organised. Thank you to the Willoughby Estia team for all that you do 🙏

Moving my mother into aged care was a difficult time in our lives which was made much easier by the help & kindness of the team at Elizabeth Lodge. Three years later because of the ongoing care & kindness to mum, we have now moved dad in. There is a genuine feeling of warmth towards all residents and their families by all at Elizabeth Lodge. I have recommended this facility to others I know facing the challenge of aging parents.

It’s never easy when your loved one moves to nursing home care, but I have nothing but good things to say about our experience at Estia Willoughby. The decor is art deco which makes it feel more like a home than a nursing home. More importantly, the staff are very kind, helpful and caring and made the difficult transition from home to nursing home as stress free as possible. Meals are good & it’s lovely to be able to occasionally share a meal together in the garden, or in the dining room with the other residents. There are lots of activities and the staff make sure my husband is able to join in the ones he is interested in. Weekly outings on the Estia bus & the morning tea provided on the outing are a bonus. Thank you to everyone at Estia Willoughby for your ongoing care.
