About French Centre

So, if you want to learn French from A to Z, or you simply want to learn some French before heading to France, with like-minded fellow students whose contagious enthusiasm for all things French and zest for life turn each lesson into a gathering of friends rather than a formal class, then there's a learning experience waiting for you at the French Centre for Language and Cultural Studies.

Completed French beginner course 1 and already signed up for beginner course 2. After a couple of research done and the decision to learn French in this French centre is right! I love how the class is setup, European kind of environment, the classmates and the teacher (Giacomo). Giacomo has an interesting character when come to teaching, it’s like learning French with an artist. I’m not just learning French but also the history of why or how the language is develop... that’s how Giacomo runs his lesson. I highly recommend anyone who would like to learn new language in this centre. It’s just 8 lessons to start with which is great. For me it’s like to try out first instead of committing to a 16 lessons course.

I’ve completed the Beginner 1 and 2 courses at the French Centre and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The classes equip you with a linguistic understanding of the language while also instructing you in the common vernacular. I’ve taken classes by Julia and Giacomo who are fantastic teachers with very different styles, both offering valuable tuition and insight. I would highly recommend this school for the in-depth yet easy going vibe that it offers. The classes are small and very interactive - and fun! I can’t wait to come back for Beginner 3!

I recently completed the French Beginner 1 course last year and have to say that I had a great time learning to speak and write French. The group classes are just the right amount of people - it is small enough where you are able to feel comfortable practising your French aloud and large enough to have that classroom feel. Giacomo was an excellent and patient teacher. Would recommend this for anybody with a desire to learn a language!

I have just completed the French beginner’s class. It involved eight weeks of small class tuition. Our teacher Giacomo, was warm welcoming and made the classes fun. I hadn’t studied French for 50+ years, but found that the structure of the classes and the enthusiasm of Giacomo accelerated my learning. The other students were all enthusiastic and made each class a lot of fun, with no judgemental pressure. The online resources made revision before each class easy. I am definitely enrolling in the next eight week course. I can thoroughly recommend this course. Owen Roberts

Being absolute beginner, and having a previous poor experience at another school, was initially daunted in joining another French class. But found French Centre run by Giacomo was exceptionally relaxed, always helpful and friendly in small classes. His story board was great fun and having the audio available to down load and able to listen outside of class was extremely useful having a busy schedule , laugh so many times listening to the humour in them. The teachers are from a French background and truly are amazing - fantastic base to improve your French! And recommend without hesitation.
