My experiences with the dental hygiene service have been very disappointing. I have had my teeth cleaned by dental hygienists at Gentle Dental Care on two occasions. I specifically asked if a dentist could perform the cleaning, but I was told that teeth cleaning is done exclusively by dental hygienists. During my first visit, photos were taken, and I was told that there were some treatments I should consider. However, very little explanation was provided, and I did not receive much information about what was being recommended or why. My second visit was significantly worse. A different hygienist performed the cleaning. No photos or X-rays were taken, and there was no examination by a dentist. Throughout the entire appointment, the hygienist barely spoke to me. She cleaned the tartar and then sat at the computer typing notes without explaining anything she had found or discussing my oral health. I was then sent to reception, where I was given a treatment plan listing several recommended procedures along with a significant estimated cost. No one explained the findings, showed me any photos, discussed the reasons for the recommendations, or gave me an opportunity to ask questions.

I really can’t thank the staff and Dr Russo enough for accepting and treating me quickly as a new patient with an emergency. They put me at ease and treated me so efficiently. Dr Russo is a magician, solved my very sudden dental emergency super well. I will be coming for routine visits as well.

In December 2022, I made an appointment at GDC Liverpool to re-cement a veneer on my right front tooth. An X ray was taken and the dentist showed me the scan saying it showed a tiny bit of infection needing root canal treatment by a specialist. I could not see any sign of infection, but I agreed as he said it was tiny. He applied enormous pressure to the veneer when gluing it back on during which I copped a large amount of glue in my throat that I was forced to swallow as the dental nurse was not using the saliva ejector. A few days later I had pain in my gum over the adjoining tooth to the one he had applied enormous pressure to. I made an appointment to go back and complain about his treatment. He refused to accept blame and told me to go with the dental nurse into an adjoining room for an OPG which I had never even heard of before. When I returned he did not show me the OPG scan but said it provided a clearer image than the X ray and it showed the left tooth had serious infection as well as the right tooth and I needed root canal treatment on both front teeth ASAP. I was very satisfied with my visit at gentle dental Liverpool had a thorough checkup with the dentist the hygienist was incredibly gentle and the receptionist was friendly. I felt well taken care of and not at all rushed. Highly recommended

Friendly and caring staff, as always. Quickly diagnosed the source of my recent issue and remedied the problem efficiently. I've been going to Gentle Dental at Liverpool for many years, and will continue to do so, even though we moved house almost 10 years ago and the Liverpool location is now just over 25kms away from where I live.
