This was a great service for me. It needs to be acknowledged that this clinic isn't meant for a long term support. But for someone like me, who's never had experience with psychologist counseling or therapy, only seeing such in movies, it was a great start line. My suggestion for the team would be increasing patient's awareness of the process. A lot of troubled people and teenagers would be coming to headspace having no prior experience with counseling. It's nice to know how many people, psychologists, clinicians I have to go through until I get seen by the person who's gonna be the one to explore my concerns together with me. Also, I feel like it needs to be acknowledged that a lot of provisional psychologists in their final years of degree are engaging with headspace, which basically means one person might not be working there for years. Nevertheless, my experience wasn't any worse from the mentioned above. I was seen by a beautiful young lady who helped me word my concerns. She went out of her way to help me find best clinics I might benefit from in the future treatment, took her time kindly helping me with some documents and referrals to assist with future therapy. Had a bad feeling the moment I spoke to the East Asian receptionist. She spoke really dismissively when I said I was a young adult instead of a teenager and she was insinuating that the younger people took priority over me. Just because I'm older, doesn't mean my problems are smaller. Also realised that there's no clear communication between receptionists and the onboarding team. Mentioned my availabilities multiple times but they don't bother to cross check with records.

Won’t help a teen in crisis. Will talk about how they help but that’s it. If you want another service dumping you in their ‘too hard’ basket you’ll find it here.

We had an interaction with Simon . It was so obvious he doesn’t know anything about supporting youth and have no empathy and could not facilitate and understand the issues . It is a waste of government money to have this established here .

I made an appointment last year which kept getting postponed until this year and then when I finally got to speak to the person in charge, Gabby, she wasn’t very nice about my situation. She kinda seemed condescending and dismissive and said she would call me the following week with an update as to whether or not I can get help from them. THEY NEVER CALLED ME BACK. I called back so many times and nobody ever picked up. I once got a call through and the person said somebody else will call me but again nobody called me back! Being so negligent and having such poor and careless service in a mental health clinic is so dangerous. I tried contacting other headspace locations and they also never picked up my calls and I read their online reviews as well and people has similar complaints. This is very scary. I would not recommend headspace to anyone. This whole ordeal made my situation worse. Please be safe, everyone.
