My experience was extremely disappointing. I felt there was a significant power imbalance throughout my treatment, and I did not feel listened to or treated with respect. In my experience, communication was dismissive, and I left feeling unsupported rather than helped. My consultations with Dr Toon Kim Chiam were particularly concerning. I felt I was treated discourteously, and I came away feeling that my concerns were not taken seriously. Overall, the standard of care fell well below what I expected, and I would not recommend this service based on my experience.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for Nicola, the wonderful receptionist at Hirondelle Private Hospital. From the moment you walk through the doors, Nicola makes you feel genuinely welcomed with her warm smile, kindness, and caring nature. She goes far beyond what is expected of her role and truly cares about the patients she helps every day. Nicola has personally assisted me with my hospital admissions on several occasions, and her support, patience, and dedication have made what can often be a stressful experience so much easier. She is always willing to help, answer questions, and ensure everything runs smoothly. Nothing ever seems too much trouble for her. What makes Nicola so special is not only her professionalism and efficiency but also her compassion. She has a beautiful way of making people feel valued, heard, and cared for. Her kindness shines through in every interaction, and it is clear that she genuinely wants the very best for every patient who comes through the hospital. I’ve only been here five days, but it’s already made a real difference for me. I came in not really knowing what to expect, especially dealing with both mental health stuff/grief and heavy drug addiction, but it’s been way more relaxed and supportive than I imagined. The staff are genuinely lovely… easy to talk to, no pressure, and they actually listen. There’s no judgment here, which makes it a lot easier to open up about what’s really going on. They don’t just focus on one thing either, it feels like they really care about your mental health and your recovery as a whole. It’s a calm, safe kind of environment where you can start to get your head straight again. Five days in and I already feel like I’m in the right place.

This the first detox centre that has treated my son with some individual assessment. He entered with drugs (unbeknown to us as he has stuffed it in the nether regions) Not unusual but also not picked up. Usually it’s instant dismissal, however he was assessed (well done) as to his intentions. If they choose to enter a place like this they really do want to (but they do falter) The whole experience has been unique. I really cannot implore this clinic mean business whilst also are compassionate to the point these places are very clinical (yes as they are) but they are so much more personal. Perfect combo of firm and personal / caring. Keep up the good work Hirondelle. Best experience. We have been in and out of the ‘usual places’. Diabolical.

Rude receptionists. I waited over 3 weeks after calling at least 4 times to get into a dr. After having the worst 10 months of my life constantly in our of hospital because my old psychiatrist gave me inadequate care. I was trying to get in for weeks with someone help because I simply needed help. I was told my case was "complex" which is very insensitive, especially to people who are mentally unwell and struggling. I was finally offered an appt with a dr I had no idea about. I cancel 3 days before the appointment and get "ugh" response. Thankfully I was able to find somewhere with great professionalism and patient care. Turn around and go somewhere else.

DO NOT COME HERE Extremely unprofessional and dodgy hospital LOSING MY MEDICATION: They LOST my BENZOS. This is a highly classified medication. They spent the next half an hour searching and telling me they couldn't find my highly classified medication. Eventually they "found" it without the original box that had my drs instructions etc. instead the pills were suspiciously found in a ziplock bag..??? I don't even know if its my original medication or they just found some benzos and gave it to me to avoid trouble. SMOKING: some staff smelt strongly of cigarettes in the hospital, some detox patients were doing weed right outside the hospital for their smoke breaks. Could barely attend group therapy as lots of patients smelt strongly of smoke. INCONSISTENT NURSE CHECKS: the first day I got 0 checks, had my door locked for hours at one point Second day they're saying they must legally check every half an hour.. The push to sign discharge against medical advice when it wasn't the case: I had an early discharge due to unprofessional care after psychiatrist also said I can choose to discharge myself. Just to cover their own asses the nurses continuously pushed for discharge against me

Excellent experience of love and care from all employees - receptionists, psychologists, psychiatrists, cleaning staff, care coordinators and nursing staff. They foster community spirit that is healing too.25/10 from me.

If you are in the process of choosing a rehabilitation hospital for any type of orthopaedic surgery recovery I hope you take the time to read my lengthy review. Smack bang in the middle of the NSW Covid peak I managed to suffer a severe leg injury. After surgery at a major Sydney hospital I was transported to Hirondelle Private Hospital to begin my long rehabilitation. And I'll explain why Hirondelle deserves this 5 Star Review. Nestled in a leafy Chatswood street it looks like a lovely stately home, not at all like a hospital. So feeling a bit sore and sorry for myself, I was stretchered from the Ambulance into the hospital...and...Wow.... instantly I felt relief and knew that I was in the right place for my rehab. The staff immediately made me feel welcome and I could actually feel their care and concern for me. A lovely single room with a leafy outlook was to be my home for the next 7 weeks and because no visitors possible due to Covid restrictions the staff quickly became my defacto family. The care is second to none. A holistic approach that focuses on your entire health rather than just on your specific injury. A well equipped rehab gym with amazing physio professionals star
