Thai & Laos Restaurant

Located at Shop 5/330 Church St, Parramatta NSW 2150, Holy Basil Parramatta operates as an asian restaurant serving Parramatta in New South Wales. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

For a place to eat or drink, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open now, is it busy at peak hours, and does the menu suit the group you are bringing. Australian cafes tend to open early and close mid-afternoon, while restaurants and pubs run lunch and dinner services with a quiet spell in between, so an off-peak visit is worth a quick call. Card and tap-to-pay are accepted almost everywhere; some venues add a surcharge on weekends and public holidays.

The business lists hours on 1 day of the week. The most common schedule is 12–11 pm. As with most places, expect changes around public holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. More information is available on its website, holybasil.com.au.

Its Google rating is 4.1 out of 5 from 2,710 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

Parramatta is in New South Wales, on Australia's east coast, where summers are warm and humid, winters are mild and businesses keep to standard hours year-round with the usual public-holiday changes. Getting around Parramatta is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy centres, and most suburban shops have their own car park. Great food!!! and service was also amazing. 5 mins wait time. No pre booking. There were 5 people in front of us but we only had to wait for 5 mins. You give you name and phone number. They call you when your table is ready.

Solid three-star rating overall. Appreciated walk-in service on busy Tuesday evening. Good range of vegetarian fare. Standard service. Very noisy! Bathroom facilities onsite, including upstairs.

The food and service was 10/10!! The staff were welcoming and hospitable and the way the place is set up gives an ambiance that transports you straight to the heart of Thai cuisine. The food was next level: i can confidently say one of the best Thai places in parramatta !!

I had a really disappointing experience at Holy Basil. Right from the start, I was seated directly under an air conditioner blasting cold air onto my face and ears. When I asked to move, the first waiter simply shrugged it off and didn’t help. Thankfully, another staff member was more accommodating and moved me to a better seat. I’ll give service 4 stars for that effort. The atmosphere itself is quite nice, but unfortunately, the food was a major letdown. - The chicken feet salad had an overpowering, unpleasant fish sauce smell and taste. A light sear on the chicken feet could have improved it significantly. - The Thai coffee tasted good, but it was overloaded with ice easily 30% too much, which diluted the experience. - The crab fried rice lacked the usual chilli kick you’d expect from a chilli basil dish. Worse, the crab didn’t taste fresh. - The soft shell crab initially seemed okay, but I could tell it was borderline fresh. Unfortunately, not long after getting home, I had a severe stomach upset. Overall, this was a really poor experience, and I wouldn’t recommend it. There are plenty of great options in North Parramatta and Kellyville this place doesn’t come close.

We found ourselves in Parramatta on a Tuesday night & wanted to get some food and found this amazing Thai restaurant on the banks of the Parramatta river. Its decor is very pretty and has a nice outdoor area to eat underneath umbrellas. The seats are plush purple velvet and you have a second level to sit at upstairs if you want. We ordered Thai beef salad and the duck yellow curry. It was all super delicious with a nice atmosphere of modern music if a little loud. Highly recommended!!
